I don't know if they are still putting those long antennas on the 2021 Rangers but in the event they do you might consider a CravenSpeed Stubby Jr antenna if you don't like the long one. Just mentioning it since you asked. It was the first thing I did to my Ranger.
ohHHH, but is that considered a mod!

JK

I asked a dealer about that, and they didn't have an answer.

You're not wrong. I tried to go back and change "mods" to "add-ons" after I posted, but it was too late. :)
Title editing is tricky here. This thread just made me think of the differences is all.

Around Fiesta folks my FiST is considered basically "stock," with mild suspension/brake work, wheels/tires, Baja Designs pocket fog inserts, and mudflaps.

And here my truck is "lightly modded" with a bedliner and Fas-Top.

Laugh it up funny boy :)

Actually, he's a new owner just like me. Just saying what I did. I'm not really into mods, but if that's your thing, you do you.
Not sure why you're so defensive.

Just spell it how most people say it. Tunnel cover. ?

I always have to google it before I commit to the word.

Take a look at the occupation on a lot of the users here. You'll notice it's set to retired and you'll get why it's considered a mod ?
Me too with the tonneau cover spelling, think I got it right this time.

I'd think you are right about the retirement thing. It's all a matter of perspective.

I joked about that a bit shortly after I bought my Ranger in the "What did you do to your Ranger" thread and offered a step by step guide to installing the Stubby antenna for those interested. No one took me up on it though. :D

Honestly I like my Ranger pretty much the way it is so my mods (not mods) were the antenna, floor mats, Ranger letters on the tailgate and the huge scratch I put on the tailgate from the Home Depot cart while I was loading stuff. The latter was not a "mod" I liked unfortunatly. :)

I'm really not sold on these things. They look like they could be handy in the right circumstances, but also a hassle for most typical things.

Do they quick release to get them out of the way if you need to remove them for larger, longer items?
Yeah, I bought the AMP sport extender. It's great when you move a 6ft box and have a 5ft bed, or if you move junk Sanford and Son style and need a little extra room.

It has a bracket it just locks in to so you can lift it up and out of the way also.

Yeah. I'm adding this since you edited your reply. I'm very happy with my ranger. I think in the future I will swap the shocks, but all in all I'm ecstatic with it.

Yeah sorry, I often type faster than I think and press "post" too fast. Especially at this time of day and after I have had a few cold ones. So I catch myself editing after posting when what I want to say catches up. :)

Glad you are liking your Ranger. I hope it gives you many happy travels and adventures.

Right there with you. I'm sorry about your scratch. Very frustrating, especially on a new car. Hope it's not too bad.

This place cracks me up sometimes.

I've never been part of a vehicular online forum where things like mudflaps and floor liners are considered "mods."
See we startem off small on gateway "mods" and before they know it they're on to tailgate dampers and hood deflectors. It's all downhill from there...

Thanks, but it happened doing stuff with my truck that trucks are meant for. So no huge deal. I was careless and it was my fault letting the cart slide under the tailgate like that. But as a cautionary lesson, those flat top carts at Home Depot are just the right height to scratch the tailgate if you let them slide under. That bend near the top of the tailgate catches the cart just right.

I hear you. On my last Truck I backed up to a lawn chair and then when someone dropped the gate it hit the chair and put a big in the gate. Stupid mistake. It happens, but like you said, it's a truck.

Enjoy!

And, sorry for hijacking the thread :)

I leave mine in the bed all the time. I use it for work as I carry a 6' ladder just about everyday. It also comes in handy when it's flipped inside the bed for corralling stuff so it doesn't fly all over the back.

Great stuff so far! Regarding the bedliners, I passed on the Ford factory spray-in liner because it cost more than the local Rhino liner place (which now sounds like maybe not the place to go), and because of some videos I saw of easily it can be removed. Sounds like my best pro options at this point will either be Rhino or Line-X. There've been a couple of votes for Line-X already--anybody else have strong feelings one way or the other?

And, sorry for hijacking the thread :)
This happens in almost every thread so no big deal. You have not really seen thread hijacking here until you see a thread like "What tires would you recommend?" and then it turns into a six page thread about tailgate dampers. Haha
