I would replace all of the non-LED bulbs with LED bulbs. They should be brighter and last longer.

I have replaced some of the bulbs on my truck, but have a few more to go since not every light is LED on the Lariat.

I have added the following to mine:
  • RANGER tail gate letters
  • Line-X spray in bed liner
  • Ford Performance Fox Coilover kit
  • Tailgate damper
  • BAK4 Hard Rollup Tonneau Cover
  • Raptor Style Grille
  • 3x LED Raptor Style Grille lights
  • Window Vents (WeatherTech)
  • Lower Grille (Putco)
  • Bushwacker Armor Rocker panels
  • Stubby Antenea (lost most of the HD Radio Channels available in my area)
  • ODBLinkEX Cable for FORScan modifications
    • BAMBI Mode (High Beams with Foglights)
    • Removal of DING-DING when closing door with engine on
    • Speed-Limit display (it works but not the best)
    • Climate in Right side screen in dash
  • LED Lights
    • License Plate lights
    • Side Markers
I am also researching the Ford Performance Tune Kit (if wife approves).
There are lots of things you can do for your Ranger, you just have to make sure the wife gets some time too.
Enjoy your new Ranger when it comes in.

This place cracks me up sometimes.

I've never been part of a vehicular online forum where things like mudflaps and floor liners are considered "mods."
If you made a change from the way it came from the factory, it has been modified. It doesn't matter if only a minor cosmetic change to the appearance or a full on tear it apart and put it back together differently with custom parts, it has still been "mod'd". It has been changed to the way way the owner wanted. To each his own. It is all up to preferences and budgets.

Since you bought a 2wd, I highly recommend the lowering kit from...

Oh, wait no one makes lowering kit for our trucks!
Brings up a question: It seems that the only way to level is to lift the front end. I would like to level the truck but don't want a 'lifted' truck and would prefer to level by lowering the rear. Is there no way to do that? The loss of weight carrying capacity would not be be a factor in my situation.

Checkout the existing threads in regards to lowering. I watch them but they can be found under a Forums search, Chassis/Suspension threads.

The short answer is No. No major aftermarket players make a lowering kit of any kind for our trucks. They blame COVID but I also believe the market for such a kit is pretty small.

I know of two US members that have done it, one was an expensive kit that requires almost completely replacing your stock rear suspension. The other was a home made setup that seems to work well. Go look them up if you want the details.

Thanks Justin.

-Stick figure family
-NOS Sticker
-RTT that's used once a year for the kids at the fireworks show
-Chassis mounted wing on a street car
-Angry eyes on a Jeep

These are accessories, not modifications.

Potato, potato.

You 'modified' it with accessories. Still counts as being mod'd.

Okay Bob.

I don't care if you mod your truck with every stick on piece of crap from the J.C.Whitney catalog. Call it what you want, too. Like I said. Potato potato.

What is the procedure for changing the screen display . . . I don't remember seeing that in the Owner's Manual, but I'm sure it was easy to miss as well.

Thanks!

Then why do you comment in topics you don't care about? You're everywhere. Always a subtle cut with you. Get a clue kid.

Hi All,

As some of you may have heard in other threads, I pulled the trigger yesterday on ordering a 2021 Ranger 4x2 SuperCrew with the 302A package, tech package, rear locker, and tow package. I waited on some other upgrades either to save money or because they're cheaper/better aftermarket. I've spent some time online today organizing my list of items to purchase once the truck arrives this summer, and here's what I've got so far:

-Spray-in bedliner (from the local Z-Tech shop)
-Bed extender
-Running boards
-Locking trailer hitch
-Floor liners
-Storage compartment organizer
-Tailgate damper (I know, I know, but I've got a daughter who I can totally see opening the tailgate and banging herself in forehead.) :)
-Mudflaps

I don't do any offroading, and I'll mostly be using the truck to commute and occasionally haul things home from Lowe's and Menards. So what do you think? Is there anything you've found to be a useful addition that I haven't listed (and that doesn't require serious mechanic skills)? Do you have any brand recommendations on anything I've listed?

I figure I've got at least three months before the truck makes it down here, so maybe this thread can be a useful diversion while I wait. :)

-Chris
