I replaced my battery 2 years ago with Walmart battery that has 4 year warranty . The last few days my truck keeps going into powersaving mode. On my elo gps app. My volts go down to 12.2 after turning the truck off. So I ordered a charger and it gets here later.
Should I reset the bms after charging or leave it?

Im also considering to get forscan and change the settings. But the adapters are expensive. Would it help since the battery is 2 years old?

Has anything changed recently that might be causing draw on the battery?

Batteries go bad so... it could just be that the battery needs to be replaced. When you drive, are you getting a charge?

Nothing different. It gets 14v when driving but still goes battery saver. My last battery was 2.5 years

I would set the charge rate using Forscan to 90 or 95%. Charge the battery with your charger and see if issue is corrected. Don't reset the BMS unless you are replacing the battery. That is the only time it should be reset.

You're not far off on time from the last battery to this one. Take it in and have it tested would be my first step. If the battery checks out, then you need to find out what is causing the drain.

It never hurts to reset the BMS but I don't think it's necessary. I have a Forscan cable I can send you for the cost of shipping. It's the kind that you need to manually switch between the two types of connection but it works just fine. I upgraded to the automatic style, so I don't need the old one anymore.

My experience from my last vehicle. Usually the batteries outlive the warranty but those were interstate batteries. This still has another 2 year warranty. Ill see if the charger helps. If not Ill get it tested.

Ill think about the cable. Kind of want something convenient like the automatic one.

Im going to try that. I did a charger but it's still going back to battery saver. According to my charger, it's reading 12.4 volts before i charged it

I also have a '21, bought in April, so I'm going on 5 years on original battery. I run an onboard desulfator. Not sure how much it helps, but so far so good.

Same battery? Leave it be. If you replaced the battery then I would reset the BMS.
Yeah, did OP reset the BMS on the first battery change?

I don't think i did. I remember the battery messing up, and did it prior to changing the battery to try toget battery saver to go away. At the time I didn't know i had to do that after changing battery. From what i read, the bms will recalibrate itself automatically after getting it replaced. After sitting for 8 hours

My 2022 first battery only lasted 2 years and was replaced under warranty. The second battery would go into power saving mode after the vehicle sat for a week. I was also having an issue with the alarm randomly going off late at night, I thought it was the hood latch, but it ended up being the aftermarket alarm the Ford dealer installed. After removing the aftermarket alarm, all is good, no more drain and the battery holds its charge.

@52,000 I just replaced my 2020 ford ranger XLT sport super cab battery.. i found a new battery for $100 and 1 year warranty THE EXACTLY the same one I was going to get from the dealer dealer wanted 260 plus tax etc… I then reset the BMS and I am happy…. I recommend to replace anything from the truck with what comes off the truck it makes a difference in the long run if you’re gonna use OEM parts or any aftermarket parts cause OEM parts are made designed engineered for that truck. I would obviously shop around for the cheapest price and that’s why you keep your truck lasting.

Amazon has the Vgate vLinker FS OBD2 USB Adapter for FORScan HS/MS-CAN Auto Switch on sale for $28.... normally $35.

I have never had any trouble with mine. Works flawlessly with Forscan.
