My lariat has the auto high beam but seems it will not auto up when going slow. Any way to change that? Maybe in forscan?

Auto hi beams have been around since the mid-60's on Cadillacs and Lincolns. I worked at a Cadillac dealer in the mid-80's and trust me, those things NEVER worked right. Every car that came in for service, the owners had always turned it off.

How slow? The auto high beam on/off feature seems to work fine on my XLT at speeds as low as 30-35 mph.

They work fine but not as good as my BMW but the BMW work all the time even when going slow. I would like them to work like that..
I drive on some lake roads in the 10 to 20 mph range and with the lights on this truck it’s has that definite line..

I don't think they are speed based but more about sensing the lights in front of you.

I live in a hilly/curvy area and the auto high beams almost give me an epileptic seizure with their constant flipping.

Every time I top a hill or round a curve I encounter a street light or other type of lighting that just happens to be at the right angle to appear to be an oncoming vehicle.

I've had several vehicles with the feature and NONE of them have worked correctly in this area.

If I get out on the highway, they work fine.

You taught me something new today, as I had no idea this feature had come out then.

I found the feature to be annoying more than useful for me so I have it turned off. I also live in the Houston suburbs so that may have something to do with it.

I turned mine off as well, as it was quite annoying for my mostly urban/suburban driving.
I bet it works pretty well in mostly rural areas though.

The reflective requirements for road signs in some jurisdictions are such that my truck looks a bit like @Msfitoy ’s when I’m cruising along. Signs up here reflect back very strongly and it’s better to keep the feature off in a lot of semi-rural areas.

On secondary country highways, this feature works very well and only the occasional security lamp at a farm or commercial building gives me grief.

Factory Control for Auto H/B = On @ 32 MPH and Off @ 27 MPH
No known Forscan settings to change - Speed Input trigger- that I see

However.
1. You can disable (Auto-H/B) in the IPC Settings and go old school
2. You can override the (Auto-H/B) by pushing the Turn Stalk - Forward, you will see the (Auto) indicator disappear on the dash, you are now running old school and if you pull the stalk back - you are back in (Auto)

I travel a hilly country road - YES, the Auto H/B is annoying as it kicks on going up a hill it cannot see the on-coming traffic until you have already blinded them, depending on where you are on that slope (Up or Down)

Yes auto high beam is speed sensitive like the lane assist. 20 or 30 mph ( no clue in kmh).
But i know of no forscan changes. If you find an area while searching, please let us know
Auto for me only seems to work well in those long dark lonely texas roads. I had it on the first year on my 2020. Since then........off

Another vote for not liking them. They never seemed to work right in the areas I'm in and I end up either blinding others or they don't turn on when I want them too. Like lane assist I just leave them both turned off.

Actually, they go back to the 1950's

I find the auto high beams very useful when on the highway in light traffic. For me they seem very intuitive and turn off/on at the right time.

Yes, if traffic is spaced just right they will have to go off right after coming on. During these times I just turn off the auto.

They are speed based and will start somewhere around 30-35 mph.
