Today, I finally got new tires, after 6+ months of financial setbacks. The OEM Bridgestones had 44,010 miles on them and were nearly to the wear indicators.

I bought RTX Offroad Slate wheels, 17x8 +25 back in October. I originally wanted to get some powdercoat done on them but the price of out of my ballpark for 2 color powdercoat, so I may end up painting them. I am so not a fan of all black wheels.

Tires are Firestone Detination LE3 in 255/65/17. Eibach struts installed up front set at 3/4". I initially installed them at stock height, but because the strut housing is taller, I was basically riding on the rebound bumper. To be honest, I can't tell the difference between the Eibach and stock struts.

Anyway, onto the pics !

Great looking wheels, can’t say about the tyres but I’m sure you’ll let us know how they handle.

Looking beyond the truck, your garage has a similar look as mine did before I retired from 40 years as a self employed electrical contractor.

Assuming this is a 2WD truck why didnt you go ahead and get a bigger tire to fill the wheel well a little bit? Its already confirmed that 265/70-17 will fit on these trucks without modifications and I'm sure the Destination LE3 is made in that size as well

Being a Firestone guy i can already tell you the tires do well for a street tire. I habe a set of 265/75-15's on my 1994 F150. So far good traction in dry and wet. As for mileage, it will depend on many factors. That said, dont expect to go OffRoad with them

Several reasons:
Unsprung weight
Didn't want to change tire circumference

Edit: If I didn't care about fuel mileage, I would have gone bigger. But I have never found a clear answer that 265/70 would fit on a stock 2wd with +25 wheels.

Hey Dale!

The new wheels look amazing basically copied after the infamous Enkei RPF1 design. Love it. Was it just the front you did and not the rear? I find the rear shocks help the most. For daily driving, I get less body sway when switching lanes at high speeds. Also, another way to test if you feel a difference is driving on bumpy roads that you normally do and also when you go over speed bumps. See if you see a difference there :)

Warm regards,
Brandon

Unsprung weight low as possible is KING for MPG and performance.

Did a quick check since I was curious about weight. From what you have vs a 265/70-17 on the same tire you only add 3 lbs per tire going from 34 LBS to 37 lbs. That said you should be able to get good MPG with a 32 if that is a concern. I have 265/70-17 Bridgestone Dueler REVO 3's(P Rated) and they weighed in at 40 LBS a tire. With the Old Man EMU lift and being a 4WD truck I was able to see mid 20's most of the time and had times I was high 20's seeing close to 30. Being a 2WD you should be fine.

Hey Brandon,

I have not installed the rear Eibach shocks yet but will be doing it sometime later this week. I basically installed the fronts twice so I need some time to recoup lol. Old man problems...

I'm happy with what I got, but thanks for the feedback.

I think there will be more noticeable difference once the rears are on. It's the butt body sway that was a bit terrible.

nice. You got twice as many miles of the stock Bridgestones than me. I ditched them at 24K an was close to the wear indicators. Maybe it's the tune spinning the tires!
