What is that xda app and how can I get it?. Thanks.
See video link in post #14 on page one of this thread. It explains how to get and setup the app.

Glad you were able to get it up and running.

The transmission temp is the Ford specific one 221e1c. As far as the IAT I'm using the Inlet Air Temp PID in Torque, as I don't get any reading off either of the Ford specific ones. I'm not sure where the sensor is. I wouldn't think I'd get that much heat soak off the filter box. It's not an important number for me anyway
I may put something else in that position.
How do you add this? I assume in Torque. I tried something, but couldnt see it in OBDAA

So I've been tinkering. I finally got Transmission Temp added to Torque once I looked up the formula.

Code for degrees Fahrenheit:
Code:
(((signed(A)*256)+B)*(9/8)+320)/10
This works fine in torque. I tried adding it to OBD2AA yesterday, and it would show up, but never with a temp and would actually completely lock up OBD2AA until I wound up removing it. And just now I tried to select this PID again so I could take screenshots for here, and it's just not even showing up as an option anymore.

One thing I've noticed as well, OBD2AA will launch Torque and it'll run in the background, but unless I foreground the app (actually open it) it'll never connect to my OBDII adapter, which is weird.

******EDIT*******

And now it's picking it up again. This looks like what I had before that was causing it to crash (minus the gauge style, I had changed it for another PID).

First question did you add the Ford specific PIDs to Torque? If so I found the need to have Torque up and running on my phone to be able to see those PIDs in OBDAA. For some reason if Torque wasn't active OBDAA wouldn't show them.

Your Torque setup looks pretty much the same as mine other than the long name. Mine has [FORD] at the beginning. Have you loaded the Ford specific PIDs into Torque? Also see my post above about having Torque active to be able to see them in OBDAA. Otherwise your OBDAA setup looks the same as mine except for gauge and min value. The formula matches mine. Not sure why your locked up. The Ford transmission fluid temps do not work on our trucks, must not have that sensor, just the trans temp.

Hope this helps

Honestly I forgot that torque had the option to add the ford sensors. I just added them and removed my manually added one. (Added tire pressures too). I'm in the truck right now trying it out, seeing if I can figure out what's going on.

Hopefully this will help. If you plug into your truck and fire up Torque it will highlight the PIDs that give outputs in green. That will tell you which ones will work on your vehicle.

Going to take my Friday night tube soak now. Raked and mowed my lawn today getting ready for winter. Back is a little sore.

Yeah, I've used Torque for a long time, and I remember that. I just forgot to add them again since I switched phones. Thanks again for the help!

Looks like using the *FORD* transmission temp stops OBD2AA from crashing/locking up.

Here's my current layout:

Looks close to mine. Multiple screens with different gauge layout, like Torque would be nice, a guy can dream right. Have to look up the developer and sent him a wish list. Still beats having another display stuck somewhere.

Well now that we solved a couple of minor world problems we can sleep sound tonight. Wish I could of had a Wild Turkey or a Manhattan with my soak, but those days are gone, just have enjoy the spa tub. It was great by the way, back feels much better.

Agreed. I would love to have at least one more screen to swipe between (good for a road and off-road set of gauges for instance). It would also be nice if the TPMS screen worked and we could incorporate those even into the single screen (say around the main gauge?), but anytime I click on one of the fields it crashes the app.

We solved some very important world problems! I'm not a drinker, but the spa tub does sound good. We're finally getting dropped temps and some rain this weekend, which is really nice. Might try to get up to Big Bear and play around in the forecasted 12-18" of snow between tonight-Sunday, at some point.

Thanks again!
