So, my 2019 Ranger first gave me a check engine light last month and I received a notice on Ford Pass that the turbocharger had reduced output. Dealership had it for almost 2 weeks because they were so backed up. Got it back after they did a software update for powertrain control module. Next day I’m driving it home from work and, with A/C on, hot air is blowing out of driver side vents and cold air out of passenger side. Called dealership and can’t get in for over a month. Less than 16K miles, not happy.
It's a common problem with the 2019's - mid 2020's. I ended up doing the dyi fix because we rarely need heat out here and I didn't want the dealer tearing apart my dash and console only to have it rattle later.

Here's a lengthy thread on it with a lot of good info.

Thanks for sharing this post. Sounds like a real pain in the butt to fix that seems to creat more problems. Since the A/C is working again and it is now winter I may just wait and hope it does not happen again
?. Plus if it’s not happening right now or doesn’t give them an error code, I do not want diagnostic charge for nothing. What sucks is 36 month warranty is up next month, but I have the Ford Extended warranty plan so it should cover it if it acts up again. I just really want to avid dash coming out right now and being without truck for a month.

Well listening to horror stories regarding the removal of the dash to fix this problem, I decided not to take my Ranger in. The A/C starting working on driver side again and now it’s winter. I hope it’s worked itself out (doubt that) but I don’t want them messing with it if it isn’t an issue right now. Heat seems a little warmer at lower setting so far this winter. My wife who seems to be habitually cold (temperature not attitude ?) has to constantly turn the temp on her side down because she says it’s too warm. Probably another issue related to first, but as long as it blows out warm air now and cold air in summer, I’ll leave it be. Glad I opted for an extended warranty though sounds like I’ll need it, my 36 months runs out in 4 days! And I haven’t even broken 17K miles yet.

Anyone ever get this issue figured out ? Having same issue AC Is colder while auto started as soon as I turn key it gets warmer. And it basically doesn't even get cold if I don't have recirculation on.
