-hated the start/stop, it was the second thing i disabled/removed
-first removal was the backseat headrests. i will not have anyone in the back. they were just annoying.
-that stupidly long antenna was the next to go. stubby from amazon works like a champ.

Strange....
I have neither of those but I do have a couple of issues. Most notably, Sophia Vegara won't quit stalking me since I got the truck.
That tramp!

She told me that MY Ranger was the only one she wanted!

Guess I'll have to start returning Scarlett Johansson's calls...

Usually I'm good with stop/start. The biggest annoyance is when I shift to park in the garage and it restarts for no apparent reason. Our 2019 Hyundai SantaFe does the same thing.
I just turn the truck off, then shift into park. ?‍♂

there are reasons why they have different models, with different options.
You don't go to the 5 star Hilton and get the executive suite on a hostel budget.
Come on now, don't go bringing facts into an emotional debate...

And back on topic, I guess it's not really an annoyance, but, yeah, it is.

It sounds like a hurricane under the hood for the first few seconds after starting the truck.

Fan is LOUD.

Of course it's an exaggeration.

That's why I said "seems like".

While in reality it's only a split second, when traffic opens up and you step on the go pedal and the truck is literally dead, it "seems like" the oncoming traffic is getting mighty close while you wait for it to restart. I think the biggest part of this impression is the dead steering wheel.

And while it's been disabled on mine for a while now, I vaguely remember that anytime I gave it enough brake pressure to come to a complete stop it was also enough to engage A.S.S.
Once you are at 0.5-0mph, relax your pressure on the brake pedal, but keeping enough on to stop & hold the truck. With a little practice, you'll be able to restart it while still on the brake pedal and finally, keep it running without shutting down. When you can consistently bring your truck to a complete stop and keep it running without hitting the off button, you will have achieved Smart-ASS status like me!

SWMBO won't drive our Escape because of the dead steering and she's afraid it won't restart. 2016-17 Escapes occasionally would do this requiring you to put it in park and manually restart it. Exciting when your'e halfway out in an intersection waiting for traffic to clear for your left turn. :crying: In-laws had a '17 and I guess there was a TSB or recall for this.

On the first issue, try this.....
Ignore it, in another two weeks you won't notice it any more. Worked for me!
I agree...while I was skeptical at first about the AutoStopStart...it serves a purpose and becomes transparent after a while.

Well after seeing the video yesterday of the negative battery connector fix to bypass this ran out and unplugged the thing. This morning Ford app started the truck normally for warmup. Then I plonk my butt into the seat and reflex had me going for the ASS button. Oh! I don’t have to do that anymore I thought. Quick check after dropping into drive and seeing if I got the A and a slash. Yup! This is going to be awesome. Well until my battery starts dying but, that wouldn’t be the first time ether ? One thing at a time

I can help you solve your first problem. Just plug in a LED night light into the 110v and no more ASS.

Can't help with the second as I've never had an issue with this. I guess having a small size 8 shoe comes in handy sometimes. ?

I am a size 11 and wear boots and have not experienced this issue...not sure what is happening...

Lots of opinions on the ASS. I personally love it. I got a Covid vaccination on Saturday, in line for an hour. The ASS worked like a champ. I listened to all those around me start and stop their engines.
