You could try something like

Bestek 300 watt

and pull 10 amps out of the 12 volt recepticle...

Or just go totally nuts.

I know... I'm not right in the head.

Probably be best to contact the company that manufacturers them and see if they have any idea why it wont run on a modified sine wave inverter. There must be more then a fan in it that's causing the issue.

Perhaps the start-up current is too high. Just a wild-ass guess.

I have a 2020 Ranger. Sometimes I plug a wireless phone charger to the AC outlet and it works fine. I rented a 2022 Ranger and tried to use the AC outlet with the wireless phone charger; the phone would start to charge, then stop. Basically it wouldn't work. So they have probably changed the inverter in the newer vehicles. It probably will not work when used with some AC to DC transformers.

+1 the other idea that this onboard inverter is modified sin wave, and might not work with certain electronics. especially inductive like motors, but could be other sensitive electronics as well even if they have a low power rating.

Holy hell. Who needs a clock tower and a lightning rod. Be careful at speeds around 88 MPH

I would just hang one of these from the rear view mirror and call it a day.

Agreed.

What is purpose of an air purifier in a vehicle?

I don't want to cover up smells with other smells. Ideally there is no smell in the vehicle. I use a couple charcoal filters as well. The purpose was intended to be as simple as you probably already thought...

I mean, the windows work well for me. But whatever floats your boat.

Thanks for the info, definitely not knowledgeable enough to have guessed that!

I thought the interior circuit was good for 20a?
