110V 150W outlet replace with the F150 400W version

Question to the specialists: Our 110V outlet provides only 150W, but I need 200W. The F150 outlet provides 400W. It seems for me, that the whole electronic is a together with the outlet, one part.
That means, I have only to replace the part with the 400W und it would work, make this sense?

Sure, if you don't mind blowing a fuse or setting the wires on fire

I agree with Mike on this one. It is set at 150 watts for a reason and you are best not to change it. Its like putting in a bigger fuse for a circuit that had a fuse blow. If you do that it can cause a possible fire and that is the last thing you want.

If you are changing the inverter you would need to know the 12VDC current requirement of the F150 inverter, once that is known you would need to know the 12VDC current draw for the current inverter. Once that is identified then you will have to modify the wiring and circuit protection for the wiring, and any sensing devices involved. Also you might cause issue with the electronics in the truck that control the system.

That is not to say it isn't easy, BUT you need to do you research. The current draw is you major concern.

Would be nice though if it could power a blender, microwave oven, toaster oven, etc. It did ok recharging my electric toothbrush though on my camping/fishin trip last week , I had read the manual a few weeks back and saw the wattage rating but didn't take the time to see what the circuit protection rating is though probably 10 amps ?

Even 400 watts isn't enough for even a very small microwave oven though. But you are correct. It would be nice.

mostly posted in jest, but seems to me to be a bit of a snub, if you want 400 watts you need to buy the bigger man's truck. though the F-150 likely has a larger capacity battery and alternator as well.

That's not right, the Tacoma provides 400 as well
