I would go with the PPE Standard Pan over the PPE Deep Pan and Mishimoto Pan. Why? Because the extra 2 quarts won't make a difference. The PPE Pan does have a drain plug that works well and cooling find that will assist to an extent on Transmission Cooling.

hmmm ill keep that in mind. i do like the fact that the mishimoto doesnt use the stock gasket but instead a highly superior oring design. i hate gaskets. like a lot.

Make sure the surface is clean and all the bolts are torqued correctly including the correct sequence if applicable and you should be fine.

Let's say you get the Mishimoto pan and later down the road it decides to leak. Better yet Mishimoto discontinue that pan and no longer carries that o-ring type gasket. What are you going to do then? You going to be screwed and required to get a new pan and gasket

Yea, whichever is cheaper and floats your boat. The PPE holds about 3/4 qt more fluid, but in reality, we don't really need it.

As for gaskets, I do like the o-ring one, but when it leaks where's the replacement coming from in 5 years when they stop making the pan?

The Ford gasket is actually quite nice and a little o-ring like. Also reuseable.

Bead of rtv in the old gasket grove. I did it for an old ppe pan on my 7.3. Worked amazing.

Someone please make a sub $100 sump pan with a drain...that's all I need and want...

Maybe I should start another vendor challenge?

Is the Ford gasket sold separately?
