It takes courage to live with limitations and keep a good attitude.Ya i just have to modify how i get in. I get in kinda weird because I hurt my back in the military. I put my right foot on the running board(after market round bars) and then put my left leg forward up on the door jam (i think that's what you call it, its where it says ranger) and swing my right leg behind my left as I pull my body in. It's after I plant my left leg on the door jam and I am pulling my body in my left knee hits the bottom of the knob pushing it counter clockwise.
Each of us must learn to live with a "new normal" occasionally or at least eventually, and must find unique solutions to cope.
I respect your courage and perseverance!
I'm sure you will learn to avoid the switch in time...
I once had a 4DR Tempo, and for two weeks after purchase I struck my spine on the B pillar every time I got into the car.
After that, my body learned to avoid it and the problem went away.
