Yup size matters. 285/70/17
But honestly those tires look good I had to go through a lot to make these fit. Looking back not sure it was worth it. Between the 3" lift and 10 ply tires,I can go anywhere I want as long as I drag a gas station with me. 15 city and 17.5 hwy avg.
So it was costly.

Those 285/70/17 are too good to pass up though! MPG what? lol.

I love em!

Glad I went with the 265/70/17 because at the end of the day… “size matters.”
That looks awesome with the white letters out on your black truck.
Old school, FTW!

Hey all,

Me again.

Do you think I need to recalibrate my speedometer now that it’s off? I knew it would be off and I’ve noticed it’s about 2-3 mph off depending on speed. I don’t drive very fast and I just have to be more conscious of my speed when I’m going a bit over the speed limit.

If you recommend recalibration, what’s the best route?

If you are on the factory size, then you should be fine. If you went up in size, then yes you should to keep the Speedometer and Odometer accurate. Helps with keeping the service interval accurate and help avoid excessive speeding tickets.

Oh damn, didn’t think about odometer as well. I did go up to 265/70/17. What’s the best way to do it?

There are quite a few ways you can go about this. If you have a tune already, you might be able to use the tuner device to adjust. I was able to do this with the My Touch Calibrator from Livernoise. Others have done it with ForScan, but I don't remember the procedure for that. I would do some looking

Hey all,

I’ve aired my tires to 35psi, but the Ford app and dash readings still say 39-40psi when cold. I’ve checked twice with a manual tire gauge and they’re at 35psi.

Anyone have any idea what’s going on? Do I need to update tire sizes via Forscan to fix it?

I'm going to assume that these are a P Rated tire. Because of that you are going to have to use ForScan adjusting the tire pressure recommendation.

Interesting. I have the 255/65/17 duelers on my 2020 and looking to switch to 265/70/17 destination AT2… the dealer said that if I have any trans related issues the warranties most likely won’t cover it being they are what is listed in the door… true/false?

good news on the speedo being spot on… I hear you lose 2-3 the faster you go. Aka 60 = 65ish
False… I put bigger tires on the wife’s ranger and they covered the transmission rebuild 100%. Although dealerships get weird when it comes to warranty stuff so don’t quote me on that. I’m just speaking from my own experience.

The app isn’t completely accurate. I keep my front tires at 40 psi and 36 in the rear. Ford app says the fronts are 45 and rears are 43. It’s a ballpark guess at best. If it says one is 30, might want to check it lol

I never did… I’m running 33” tires and never touched the Speedometer. Probably should but haven’t 🤷‍♂️

Yes. You will need to download the free version of Forscan and get a cable to connect your laptop to your truck. There are videos on YouTube that show how to do it. You plug in the new tire circumference in mm.
I had a buddy do it who already had Forscan and a cable. Plugging in the actual tire circumference was a little too much, I drove down the road and back comparing the speedo with my GPS, and we found that 2400 mm was just right with my 265/70-17's.
Also while you're in there you can enable "Bambi Mode" which lets your fog lights stay on with the hi beams.
