The past few days, I’ve been getting calls from the dealership where I bought the ranger. They keep leaving messages that I’m coming up on 80k miles and I’m due for service. I finally answered and told the guy that I do my own maintenance so I’m good. He sounded bewildered and asked if I’m sure? Lol
I said yup, I’m good. Transmission and diff fluids were changed at 60k miles and I’m not due yet. I stay on top of oil and filter changes. Coolant was done at 60k miles, brake fluid looks good, pads and rotors look fine, everything is running smoothly. The only thing that needs to be done is spark plugs but I’ll do that myself. He asked again if I’m sure…
I told the guy I didn’t want to be rude but even if my truck DID need service (I need to get the transmission looked at but I’m not gonna tell him that) I wouldn’t bring it to your dealership. Last time I was there your service techs left the skid plate loose, the air filter housing wasn’t snapped closed, and some of the snap clips that hold the splash shield over the oil filter were broken or missing. That was for my first oil change that was supposed to be free but ended up costing me $300…
If your guys can’t even do small things correctly, I’m not sure I trust you with much else. There’s another Ford dealership we took my wife’s ranger to a few months ago and I was much happier with my experience there. If and when I need my truck serviced, I’ll take it there instead.
There was a long and awkward silence on his end so I said thanks and hung up lol
