It's probably the crap gas in Oregon(best I can score is 92 octane), but one time I put regular gas in by mistake with my Ford Performance tune, it ran horribly enough to scare me. I think I let it get to quarter tank or something & added premium fuel right away. It ran normally after that.
When I had the Livernois tune in my '19 I ran the 91-93 performance tune and the highest I could get was 91. One time I did put 87 in (brain fart that day) and besides a lack of performance it didn't run terrible. The whole point of getting a tune is to gain as much performance out of it which would be using 93 but it's not (shouldn't) going to harm anything running regular. This was one main reason I liked the Livernois tune. You had 5 different tunes to choose from and could flash between them in a few minutes.

In Oregon you have 85 as Regular Gas. It's the same for Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Idaho. Looking at the book it states to not run lower than 87 octane(and yes it makes a difference)
Eastern Idaho has 85, here in the west it's 87

Not sure what the cause was then, but with regular gas/Ford Performance tune at least couple times I thought it was going to stall.
Gotta say more than regular as that can be a different octane in different places.

Here in North Texas it's 87, which is what I always run sense it's stock tuned. Just my two cents.

We have 87, 89 and 91 so I run the Livernois 87-89 performance tune. If towing I switch to the tow tune. I do have a 91-93 performance tune I can use.

So tune installed.

Good LAWD I am angry...I waited this long. :/

Got it uploaded and drove from work to home...about a 35 mile drive and I have a "new" truck.

Transmission shifts awesome now. Acceleration is better and feels alot more peppy.

All in all awesome piece of kit and glad I got it.

Thanks all!

Yes, the tunes really bring the truck to life. Glad to hear you are happy with how the truck has responded.

So a brief update - I was VERY afraid that it would do something crazy like revert back to craziness or something.

So far it has been awesome.

One question on the tunes - and perhaps this should go to Unleashed but figured I'd ask this group first. These trucks have the "adaptive shift". I am assuming that the tune disables that?

Thanks again!

Something to keep in mind is that with any electronic transmission including the 10R80 continuously adapts to your driving habits. This is something you don't want to disable. It learns the vehicle and it learns you. It also learns when you're towing.

So per Torrie the adaptive elves are still at work in the transmission module.

This tells me there is great merit in paying attention to how the transmission shifts and when it starts acting poorly - reflash to factory and drive for a few miles then flash back to awesomeness and enjoy.

Is this like doing the relearn procedure, only easier?

I would suppose?

I've read through the relearn procedure but never tried myself.

Do you actually have to upload another tune every time that you want to tow or do you simply switch to tow mode and use the modified tune that was uploaded earlier?
