I tried searching this issue and came up with nothing. Could you provide links on this situation?I drove through two major world class monsoon rain storms in South Carolina. The truck swallowed enough water via the intake to almost stall at a stop sign when taking off. It did this twice, water ended up in the intercooler, then went down the intake when I started up again. It almost died in the middle of the intersection both times.
When I got home I researched the issue and found it to be a known problem with all ecoboost engines. A fellow in the pan handle of Florida with an F150 traded his in when it happened to him while in a rain storm pulling his 22 foot 4-horse horse trailer. He said he can't afford to have this happen. The pan handle of Florida sees a LOT of heavy rain storms.
I suspect this is what killed my first DPFE sensor.
The dpfe is on the exhaust side. That would be a lot of water going through your engine to get to the dpfe. It's amazing it didn't hydrolock.
Btw.. I live in south Louisiana. I've been through some big storms and flooded streets... So far so good.
