I tell you what's gonna suck...

...my truck is lifted. So reaching down to get the hose clamps on the bottom end of the assembly is going to be a PITA.

I figure I should probably get the whole thing out in order to separate the old hoses for re-use so I don't booger them up.

I think I used 1/2". Will check tomorrow and report back.
Awesome, I appreciate it! 1/2" seems smaller than the hose.

Sorry to take so long to get back... had a major power outage in my area, and the power just came back on.

Took a look under the hood and I think they are the 6mm-12mm size as I do not see any excess on the clamp. They were a snug fit. I have an aversion to having excess clamp ends hanging out ready to snag onto something.

I have three sizes of these clamps and have used a couple out of each size on both my 2005 and 2020 Rangers. (6mm-12mm, 10mm-16mm, and 13mm-19mm). In English, roughly 1/2", 5/8", and 3/4"

To be safe go with the 10mm-16mm size. (5/8")

I removed the entire unit including the hoses from the truck,disassembled and reassembled the unit off the truck. it is easier to align the hose clamps for ease of change the next time around. Be sure to note the white dots on the hoses, they face out. Insures the hoses are in perfect position to be reconnected.

I will never need to remove the hoses in the future. Changing the sensor now is a 10 minute job.

I'm 5'8" and need a step stool to change the oil. I had a difficult time reaching the hose ends. The good news is that they went on easier than they came off. And next time around will be MUCH easier. Two hose clamps and one bolt, all much easier to reach.

I installed the lower end hose clamps up an inch or two while I had the unit out, then bolted the unit to the block, slid the hoses in place and finally moved the clamps into position.

I Replaced the DPFE Sensor this past Saturday and it went very smoothly mainly thanks to you all that have posted your experiences doing this job before. So this is a big thank you for posting your advice and knowledge on what to expect and it was greatly appreciated. I went with the Rock Auto sensor without the hoses, because it was in stock. But all went easy so again thanks to everyone for the help.

I also replaced mine this weekend. Have not really noticed any difference in how the truck / drivetrain behaves. I guess my old was was working fine?

I don't really have any major problems with buck/surge, but more like a feeling that sometimes under heavy load the engine is doing a little hunting, or the torque converter is not fully locking down, etc.

At any rate - I'd like to echo the thanks: The whole job only took a few minutes. I kept the old OEM one just in case - and since I've not noticed any difference, I guess I have a spare. :)
