As an aside, where can I find a complete list of the PIDS for the 5G Rangers?
Nevermind, I found A ford List on an F150 Forum.

The list I found was 2010 vintage... too old and for F150's. I figured there would be Ford commonality, but not as much as I thought.

I read through the transmission electronics logic flow and these things are have sensors driving every possible function imaginable.

The ScanGauge support team is outstanding! I inquired if they could provide me the necessary information to monitor TC_SLIPACT and TC_SLIPDSD per the info Airline Tech provided me. Their engineer got back within hours with just what I needed to allow ScanGauge to monitor both.

The ScanGauge came with TC Slip. After entering the parameters into ScanGauge I found TC_SLIPACT to be identical to TC Slip.

I now have these monitoring functions set in my ScanGauge

Row 1
Coolant Temp.....Trans Fluid Temp.....Oil Pressure

Row 2
Battery SOC..........Battery Voltage.........Battery Amp

Row 3
Torque Conv Actual Slip.....Torque Conv Command Slip.....Gear

TC_SLIPACT (Actual) gives negative - slip readings when coasting and positive slip readings when starting from stop. I've seen positive slip up to 1150 when accelerating from a stop on a steep hill, but within seconds it quickly goes to 0. I see fluid level temp go up a few seconds after a big positive reading (>500), usually 2-3F. Temps are slower to drop.

TC_SLIPDSD (Desired or command) generally starts out at 1023, and drops to 0 in the same pattern as Actual.

Occasionally once underway I see this number rise to 10, or 50 or even 200, but only for a few seconds. When this happens Actual tends to rise to some level typically =< than the Desired level. But on occasion Actual will slightly exceed Desired. Desired never goes negative as it electrically controls the Torque Converter clutch.

At 1023 I believe the TC Clutch to be disengaged, allowing maximum slip. At 0 the clutch is fully engaged and a 1-1 transfer ratio occurs.

After monitoring the two I believe my Torque Converter is functioning normally. That said, I believe the torque converter to be very inefficient, rapidly heating up transmission fluid.

Update: I also added Gear to the SG3 and as expected it dynamically shows the gear the transmission is in. 1-10.

Park shows up as 70 and Neutral as 50. Didn't look for reverse yet.

SG at Idle after 75 mile trip (55mph) .webp

#$@%@%W# I miss the hell out of my Fitzstick. I have two nice new quarter sized burns on the back of my right hand from checking my level today in the F150 after changing out the fluid for the first time.

Things were going so well and then I wiggled my hand a little bit right up against the right side cat, which made me jerk my hand and hit it again...

F-ing Ford.......

Since you'd need a Rx for Silvadene, get some of this---

silver cream.webp

Oct 18, 1987, I was in a nasty motorcycle accident, and a nurse would come in at the beginning of her shift, and apply Silvadene to the road rash on my face and hands. It felt good and healed faster with no scabbing or scars. I found this and have used it many times for minor burns. Not as good as Silvadene, but a good substitute

Actually, our infirmary at the Jail has Silvadene in bulk, so they hooked me up.

I make and use CDS for this and other medical purposes. The stuff works! Cured my antibiotic resistant infection where 6 weeks on a half dozen antibiotic combinations wouldn't touch it. The infection simply kept spreading. My doc was so concerned he was close to having me hospitalized. I asked him to give me a week. He circled the 10" infected area with a black sharpy and told me to send him a picture every morning, and if the infection passed the marker I was going in.

I showed improvement in 2 days and was completely cured in 2 weeks. He was stunned. No scaring, and no sepsis. CDS stopped the infection in its tracks.

BTW, I became infected from an unclean ultrasound wand that was used to check out my knee after my tractor accident. They moved the wand over a light 1/2" wide wound. Looked like a rug burn. That is all it took to infect me.

Yup. Ford doesn't want to mess with checking the transmission fluid. They are going to be in for a surprise when I bring mine in for the 20,000 mile service! Thanks again Mike (Fitzmotor) for making these dipsticks.

So have I, and it was at Duke Hospital!

And if you don't believe me about CDS, I have the photos and doctors notes proving it.

I suffer from a rather rare ailment, and hired a world class retired endocrinologist specializing in my ailment to be on call for a year to train me on how to treat myself.

Years earlier he had paved the trail and trained the Duke staff in treatment of my ailment.

I also use a concierge personal physician, and the endocrinologist trained him on how to treat me. Money means nothing if you are dead.

You'd be surprised by the number of effective compounds and drugs that are off patent that have been shelved simply because of corporate greed. CDS and Ivermectin are two such examples. A 3rd is Fenbendazole, an animal dewormer medication.

After several rather high profile individuals cured their stage 4 small cell lung cancer using the OTC animal dewormer medication Fenbendazole, Pfizer investigated and came out with a remarkably similar product that wasn't quite as effective, but that was extremely profitable, as Fenbendazole has long since been off patent. Read a summary about Joe Tippens here.

The details of his experience can be found on his blog here. His story is remarkable. I urge you to simply read the first few pages. He is an extremely successful and wealthy businessman. Check out what his local hospital did to him before he sought help from MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Tx. BTW, MD Anderson is consistently ranked the #1 best cancer hospital in the world.

I’ve always felt this was a strange thing..
Technically the Ranger has a dip stick.. it’s just in the worst place and no one wants to touch it..
I had the conversation with the service manager at the ford store I get my service done at..
He even said well yes it’s considered a type of DS.. so I looked at him in the Justine Timberlake gif fashion..

(This one ☝ 🤭)
He finally replied with “yeah I see your point we will check it.” (This was prior to me getting the fitzstick).

I agree 100%. I have a rare cancer in my bile duct and after a 7 hour surgery to remove the mass, 32 radiation treatments and chemotherapy it spread to my liver and the dr gave me a year to live. I started herbal medicine along with the joe tippens protocol and a year and a half later my cancer scans are clear.
