I have a hunch that question will not be answered truthfullySo, what did you pay for the 8000 tracks?
so .99 cents each oh the days of Limewire etc.I pick most of them up at thrift stores for $1 to $3 per disc. I'm cheap! So, what did you pay for the 8000 tracks?
I got lots of free music from "Napster" back in the day , before they made that a crime.I have a hunch that question will not be answered truthfullyso .99 cents each oh the days of Limewire etc.
Ugh! What a process that was. Moving the songs from old computers to new computers or phones was maybe even worse.I have about 600 CD’s in storage, but probably haven’t bought one in ten years. At one point I transferred them all to a server so I could play them through my home stereo system, using a Squeezebox (now defunct), then a Blusound Node. I also had a Sonos whole house system.
But, if you like to find and listen to new music, which I do, a subscription service is the only way to go today. Plus, all the old music I labored to put on a server is available through the subscription as well. When I consider all the money I used to spend monthly on CD’s, a subscription service is a bargain in comparison. And much more convenient.
Only $1.00!So, what did you pay for the 8000 tracks?
Probably the radio part of the APIM itself, or the antenna is loose at one end. I have the OEM antenna and the radio works decent enough.I also have the XL model. I have also found that I cannot use Android Auto unless my phone is plugged in by wire to the truck. It will not work wirelessly like the Bluetooth on my phone /truck do.
Another gripe I have is the AM/FM radio does not pick up radio stations unless they are local stations. Never had a problem with any other vehicle picking up signals. Must be a crappy antenna on the roof? Its the OEM antenna, not the stubby! Any ideas?
I appreciate it. That would be great but what would I need to facilitate that change. Forscan?Ok, give me some time to dig, but there is a setting for this in the As-Builts , something with the allow passenger control over media while moving.
I think there is a way to override the need for a passenger (occupancy) to allow that control.
I know the setting is there , I just have to dig into the database to find the setting you need to look at.
I did some digging and even google search.
I see a possible solution for Sync 3 but not for Sync 4
Yes you will need Forscan to change the As-Built data.
But for Sync 3 - APIM 7DO-09-04, has a setting
Driver Restriction Passenger Exception xxxx-xxxx-2xxx
Now for the 5G this is set to 2 = Enabled, now I have access to my Ipod while in motion but have not tried a USB stick even without a passenger in the seat.
You may try googling Sync 4 (APIM) or (ACM) settings for similar
Drivers Restriction - NAV In Motion, settings as some varied options come up such as changing the country code but however may disable the auto dial 911 feature in the event of a crash.
There are some that report - using the quick menu (Forscan) and (disabling) the driver's restriction works for them.
Since I do not have Sync 4, it's up to Google to find an answer and even then, may be a trial-and-error play with Forscan.
I think the varied results comes from there are 2 separate Sync 4 database versions.
I think the best option (MAY) be trying the Driver's Restriction setting
Here is a link to the Forscan web site. Scroll down to the list of acceptable adapters to use on your Windows computer.Ok. I appreciate the info. I believe that there is also another specialty part that I would need that plugs between the laptop and the trucks data port, correct? What is that called and where can I get one?
Thanks
