Went to the local hole in the wall tire place near me today and they stated after they tried to install them that I need more than my 3.5” lift. They said I might need a 6 inch lift with cut fenders or 8 inch lift with uncut fenders. They only wanted 50 bucks per fender to cut, but said I would have to get them repainted afterwards. Still pondering my choices……… 40”x 13.5”…………

Hell, I'll supply the Sawzall, paint, rollers and brushes. Let's get to it. :like:

Wow.

Is there enough metal to cut to get those to fit?

I would almost think you'd need to go to some fiberglass desert racer fenders and bedsides to run those.

Is this going to be a pavement princess? If not there is no way the stock ranger axle can handle a 40" tire with any real world usage. You'll need to throw a Dana 60 on the rear end, or maaaaybe you can get away with some chromeoly half shafts.

As for the front end I think you'll have to make some custom mods to keep the halfshafts from snapping.

Also plan to re-gear your differentials, and maybe transfer case.

EDIT: Missed the joke. I'm too much of an engineer.
