Not talking about the engine auto off/on which happens at stop lights etc. Thankfully you folks and forscan have allowed me to turn that off already.

I'm talking about an idle engine limit. After like 15-30minutes the truck will automatically turn it's self off. It's been difficult to search for a solution to this because im redirected mostly to the auto off/on system. Being able to use my truck and it's inverter as a generator was nice when my power went out at -25F, it kept the heaters running. However I had to stay up all night and keep the truck from shutting off. Sleeping in a running car over night uses so little gas and keeps you from getting really cold, and in some situations it would be bad to let the vehicle it's self cool down (below 0 F).

Thanks, i'll post a solution here if I find it.

IPC Menu: - Settings - Vehicle - Engine Auto Off (Deselect it)

This turns the Auto Off (OFF), I use this feature when doing any - Sync or Map updates without any interruption as with it enabled you have to hit the (OK) button to extend the idle time.

Note: This is for the - Engine IDLE Time, not the ASS

This only works for that one time, when you shut off the truck, it resets to its original state of auto off (enabled).

Valid Point, Current Ignition Cycle (Only)

This is worth a shot at trying to avoid any user interaction to obtain what you want.
Now unknown if this disable's MENU Only or the Engine Off - Timer which is 30-Minutes I believe.

Basically, this selection functions the same way as the (ASS) switch, it retains this memory selection until the next Ignition Cycle. So, if the Forscan change works - it is disabling that selection (switch) input if I am correct.

Forscan: IPC 720-01-01 has a setting for the Auto Engine Idle Shutdown

720-01-01: Change xFxx-xxxx-xxxx to x7xx-xxxx-xxxx

If this is not in the Quick Menus

F= Enabled / 7= Disabled

I am more curious how you were using the truck as a generator. Were you using the A/C to power stuff? That outlet has limited current doesn't it?

Might want to try decaf.
lol probably, it's just so predictable to hear someone solving your problem AFTER it happened. I can't take a suitcase generator in my truck everywhere I go incase of a power outage. But in a situation where constant power would be nice, I'd like to figure out how to make the truck run as a generator. And "wearing out" the engine is a pretty funny way to describe a car gently idling. hell I've NEVER put the pedal to the floor in this thing in the 25k miles i've driven it.

Yeah, really interested on what kind of heaters your running off the limited power of the Rangers inverter.
