A Ford Ranger Super Duty?

It looks like the Philippines might actually be getting the first Ranger Super Duty. Ford has filed to trademark “Ranger Super Duty” on March 1 2024 with the Intellectual Property Office Of The Philippines. Although the article is vague as to what it might be my guess would be a Diesel engine. Anyone else have a guess as what it might be?

However, this trademark leaves us asking – just what, exactly, is a Ranger Super Duty?

Currently, Ford Philippines offers the Ranger in a variety of trims, including the XL, XLT, Sport, Wildtrak, and Ranger Raptor. However, the Ford Super Duty isn’t sold in that market, nor is it really anything like the Ranger, save for the fact that both are trucks wearing Blue Oval badges. The Super Duty is known for its prowess in terms of hauling and towing heavy loads, which could give us some clues as to what this mysterious Ranger Super Duty might offer customers.

Thus, the Ranger Super Duty could wind up being a heavier-duty version of that mid-size pickup, or perhaps just a new trim or optional package with a strange name. Either way, we’ll find out soon enough, but in the meantime, we’re left to speculate about what FoMoCo might be cooking up for the next new addition to its lineup in the Philippines.

In overseas markets the Ranger is essentially what the F-150 is here.

Ranger SD: Standard cab long bed with still only 7,500 towing, but 3,400 payload. ?

Most Rangers sold here in Finland are within the 3500-7500kg curb weight class (7716-16534lbs). However none of the stock ranges actually manages to fit into that weight class and we need to modify them to meet the payload capacity. Ford does that (sourced to Artic Trucks).

Maybe they'll offer a stock ~ 10000lbs range as Super Duty?

i'm guessing this could be the best shot i have at a Ranger with a crew cab and a long bed. VERY interesting. tho ford says "no current plans" for a north american version.

Saw that yesterday evening and was going to post about it today if not already.

If they do bring it here they'll make you buy a Lariat, or make you give up anything useful, like a trailer hitch and brake controller.

Just like you can currently (or the last time I looked) buy an F150 Powerboost with the max tow package, but can't order the towing mirrors with it.

Longer bed and a 5th wheel hitch would be great for small 5th wheels. Sounds just like the old F250 light duty I used to have. Probably the same size also. History repeats itself ?.

According to TFL, straight from a Ford rep, there are no plans to bring it to NA - which I'm not surprised by - it would cannibalize F-150 sales for sure.
