  1. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026

We had a windchill of -38 yesterday and are at a windchill of -9 now in northern Illinois. Honestly, I was expecting more from this (granted -38 is nothing to squawk at). Hoping all in the potentially affected areas see light ā€˜actuals’.
  2. Kinda suspicious "Tremor"

Interesting - it’s a repo from May of this year and had a bunch of work, including on the valve body, at 12k miles. Maybe combo unreported accident plus stripping for parts before the repo...
  3. I'm Sold On Hybrids!

Pretty common in hybrids, including the Escape šŸ˜€ https://barrhavenford.com/blog/ford-escape-2-5l-ivct-atkinson-cycle-i-4-hybrid/
  4. Ford ESP question? Dealer chime in

Too bad Ford doesn’t offer a 10yr/100k warranty like Ram now does. https://www.thedrive.com/news/ram-now-has-the-best-powertrain-warranty-in-trucks-and-it-includes-hd-models
  5. Is Everything Junk Now?

We replaced our Samsung washer and dryer a few years ago for a really basic Maytag set at the advice of our appliance repair guy. Work great, zero issues. My In laws have had luck with Miele appliances (https://www.miele.com/en/com/good-reasons-for-choosing-miele-2096.htm) for the last 10 or so...
  6. what grinds your gears?!

While I applaud the effort of putting LEDs on a ā€˜94 sh**box, take five minutes to aim them before heading out on the road. And don’t drive with your high beams/fog lights/safari set up when you do. :curse:
  7. 10r80 dead. 110k miles. Ford sucks

Oof - it’s gotta be just a matter of time before a class action lawsuit for ford 10 speeds sticks like this one for the GM 8 speeds. With all the TSBs Ford has put out, it’s somewhat an admission of guilt it would seem...
  8. What’s the Wildest Winter Night Drive You’ve Ever Had? Share Your Story!

Years ago the wife and I were driving through NE CO on I-76, leaving Denver at 10 that night. She let me sleep so that around 2 or 3 we could swap when she was ready to nap. About two hours in I woke up to us going about 20 in near white out conditions by the Nebraska border as semis are flying...
  9. A Ford Ranger Super Duty?

Good call - those def appear to be Michigan Manufacturer plates. Would seem silly for all road testing to be in an environment that isn’t the intended market. But who knows, maybe that’s the norm. Regardless, that test mule does have a very functional bed.
  10. A Ford Ranger Super Duty?

Can tow almost 10k and may be avail in 2026? ? https://fordauthority.com/2024/11/heres-how-the-ford-ranger-super-duty-compares-to-the-u-s-pickup/
  11. AutoTrain another reason to love the Ford Ranger.

$258 from LA to NY when I take a look for tomorrow. Must be different stations. ?ā€ā™‚ļø Still a hell of a long time to be on a train.
  12. Farley Sure is Bullish on Mid Sized EV Pickups?

I have zero brand loyalty when it comes to what is in my garage. Technologies and build quality have and will continue to fluctuate decade to decade, manufacturer to manufacturer. If Ford goes all EV good on them - that’s what they thought made sense at the time and hopefully they find success...
  13. AutoTrain another reason to love the Ford Ranger.

I could see the pros. ~1000 mile road trips suck, speaking as someone who has regularly done Denver to Chicago a few times a year for many years now. So if someone/something else can do the driving while you are sleeping, the extra cost may be worth it. Sometimes the convenience is worth the...
  14. Other Vehicle Forums - Which are you a member of for non-Fords?

I love Rangers5G, it’s full of smart people with varied experiences and folks regularly post to it. Here’s the problem: I need its equivalent, but for a Honda I now own. A quick Google search yields few results, most with seemingly infrequent engagement and/or full of incompetent people. If you...
  15. Did I screw up when ordering tune??

Obviously there are exceptions, but this map of generalized octane offerings by state may be handy. full article https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_standard_octane_ratings
  16. G** D*** F***ing Frisbee Golf Bastards!

Looks pretty good for PDR on a seam! A sticker/vinyl graphic could mask the color chip on the cab. If anything, now you have a reminder staring at your every day to park further away.
  17. Tire Brand Poll

Been a Goodyear family for years now. Getting a set of Assurance WeatherReadys put on the wife’s Escape at Discount Tire as I type this. The last set, Assurance MaxLife, were all around great tires and hit 80k miles with nothing other than regular rotation.
  18. New Ugly A$$ Postal Trucks

this article from Car & Driver does a good job of detailing other features (than ac) included in the new vehicles. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a62187981/usps-new-mail-truck-debut/ There’s a lot of posts about costs. Serious question: what does an Amazon truck spec’d similarly cost? Don’t...
  19. Strange part found on Garage Floor

See the diagram here. Looks like your part may be in it (I know this is the diagram for drivers side). https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/hardware-and-fasteners/hardware-and-fasteners-71564-2/door-mirror-rear-view-head-left-back-outer-p-kb3z17683a?pdp=y Edit: airline tech beat me to it ?
  20. Strange part found on Garage Floor

Searching with parts of that string and other numbers on it, I find parts related to mirrors. ?ā€ā™‚ļø good luck!
