Does anyone have any ideas to keep out the bugs and rain? These short beds aren’t really conducive to camping out in.

At 5'7" I can honestly say I've never had this problem.

If a SuperCab is not an option,(they're very rare) you can try this, as you're trying to fall asleep ?, just start thinking/worrying about the transmission that got you there , is it gonna get you back ? Did you feel it shifting funny ? Slipping maybe ????
Before you know it , your all curled up in the fetal position and can fit quite nicely in small spaces...

I knew it… I set myself up for that one. Guess I’ll deal with the bugs or fashion a piece of plastic to hang off the shell hatch.

Since you have a canopy/topper, the Napier Sportz Cove awning for SUVs might work - appears to have a bug screen too.

I'm 5'9'' and my brother is 6'5''. I wanted to be tall like him until I saw him try to buy a car when we were 16 (long, complicated family stuff, but we're the same age). I've never been happier to be average height.
