Those look like they need a nice hot bath. Now I really miss my place on PEI. First time I had a lobster roll, I was on the Cape, in Rock Harbor. ? ???

So, this showed up in my Apple News feed today.

And you told me you were busy looking at building lots. ?
Technically our brains are just bunch of electro-chemical junction mesh with bunch of genetic material specifying the major connections between the different sections. In 70's it we were able to transfer 8x8 grid visuals to vision cortex so I really don't see any issues in expanding that capability outside of getting the stuff smaller, more sterile and enabling autoasembly of extended capacity wiring.

This is just evolution of past tech, not really a revolution. The real stuff will come after researchers will realize that the add-on module must have self assembled brain-chip connectivity, empty neural matrix, the external I/O and let the brain evolve the implant instead of makers dictating what they think the interface should be.

No idea what exactly what you said means other than they’ve been working on this stuff for a long time… if it can fix my back, give me the hearing back I’ve lost so far, reduce the risk of dying from heart attack or stroke to almost zero, and make it so I can fart on command..(yes I’m not joking I want to be able to fart on command.. it helps when at the grocery store and people like to hover so close you can hear them breathing..((and I’m almost deaf.)) ugh.. just a quick bum rumbler and you got atleast 3-5ft radius of personal space that immediately forms?.)… I’d get one for sure.

Hearing and sight might be in near future (50y) but back might be long off as it would mean replacement of spine and it might be easier just to time travel back to youth and start drinking milk.

Farting you can fix by eating pea soup, onion, jerusalem artichoke and any other inulin foods.

Years ago, I was in Halifax and brought home t-shirts with these cartoons on them for the wife and I:

Note: we both LOVE a good lobster, and although I don't smoke, I don't have strong opinions about it either way; we just thought that these were fun.
