Same here and with the high heat we had in AZ it just made more sense with a turbo. I also change my oil every 5,000 miles with a full synthetic. I don’t drive a lot of miles so the one or two oil changes a year are worth the extra cost.

Not to rub salt in the wound but we were just at Sam’s Club and here’s our price for premium. ?

Did a trans fluid swap using the Fitzstick and 12 volt pump. Was only able to draw off 5 quarts which leads me to believe I was a bit low. My usual measurements are done hot, but at around 190 degrees and trans doesn't get up to operating temp till around 210-215.
But have never had any trans problems, so I'll just keep an eye on level.
Replaced with 5 qts of new plus a bottle of Lube Guard Platinum....
All is good in Grumpaw's Garage.

Californias solution to the weight problem in the United States is just lighten up their wallets and bank accounts?

I've been plagued with vibration at freeway speeds between 65-80mph since I put new wheels and tires on. Had it roadforce balanced, aligned. Balanced again, was looking into 1 piece driveshafts. Today I pulled each wheel, wire brushed the hub face and installed hub centric rings and extended thread lugnuts and dammit it worked. Smooth as can be. Treated it like I was installing a cylinder head.

I finally got around to installing my Fitzstick today.

The process took 2 hours: ~1.5 hours to clean out a mouse nest, and ~20 minutes to actually install the dipstick tube.

The mice built a massive nest of twigs and grass behind the engine (between engine and firewall), on top of the transmission basically. I didn't want to knock any mouse poop into my transmission while the OEM bolt was off and the transmission pan was exposed to the air, so I figured cleaning it before I got started was the best way forward.

It sucked, involved a lot of blind grabbing at the nest while wearing gloves, followed by blindly shop-vaccing the area out. Ohwell. Glad it's done. Now I need to figure out how to keep them from returning...peppermint oil and stuff I guess. The truck lives outside, mostly on the street, and not near anything that I would consider mouse habitat. Well, except for a ton of acorns that fall all over the ground and give mice plenty of food to eat.

Pic is looking up at the transmission fluid checking bolt from underneath, prior to eviction of the mice.

The install part was super easy, barely an inconvenience. Got the tube lined up on the first try, install was a cinch. Once installed I drove the truck around a bit, then checked the transmission fluid level. It was between 4 and 5 on the fitzstick, right where it was supposed to be.
