Added a hard bottom rear seat cover to Scrappy. Gary loves it. I took him and his sister for a ride and it worked very well. Gives them a much larger area to get comfortable on long trips. Time will tell how long it lasts.

That looks great and Gary seems pretty happy back there.

I took my 13 year-old Golden on a final road trip to my cottage on PEI in my 2001 Ranger - he loved it there when I lived down east. It’s a long drive from Toronto to PEI and I wanted him to be comfortable and to be able lay down so, I stripped out the rear jump seats, removed the passenger seat, built a platform to cover the entire open area to make it flat and level, padded it and covered it with moving quilt material.

He sat up looking out the front window the entire 20 hour trip. Once in a while, he’d look over at me with that goofy Golden Retriever smile, then turn back to look out the front window. It’s like he knew where we were going.

WAIT !!!! Some dealer is paying you $67 thou to take a GMC off their lot ???
Where is this happening ???
Lol.

Canyons(excluding WT/Work truck trim) easily go for $50,000 and up around here.
Want a mid-size GM for under $45k? Chevy Colorado. Want cooled seats for your capitalist loving ass? a $50k GMC Canyon is your best bet. Aw snap you want more GM gots ya. How about a Canyon Denalli? Only a mere $80k

I have one like that as well. My dogs are much more comfortable than just using the seat.

When I bought both sets, they were $499 each, definately the top of my range.

I'd look around for the latest tech but not the "smart" ones, I don't need AI, just something to record.

I did appreciate that mine came with a polarizing filter and the ability to have image stabilization.

Viofo is an awesome brand and, imo, dual channel is a must. The only thing I'd check if going with it, is how it handles parking/sentry mode. Some YouTuber did a test with bouncing a basketball on a parked car's windshield to see how long it takes to start recording.

I'd also consider the battery/capacitor for time it can record. My Nextbase has a ridiculously small battery.

I think anything over $300 is going to be great (massive generalization on my part). BUT a $100 dashcam is worth a zillion if it records an accident.

Look at AZScorpion's situation, he had a top level dashcam but the heat where he lives killed it when he needed it most.

So, if I bought again, I'd probably spend less but shoot for mainstream resolution, dual channel, and better parking mode. You can find all that in the $300 range (including the rear cam and wiring).

Good luck!

Well......your videos convinced me to go ahead and order a couple of dash cams. I wound up going with the Viofo 229A PRO, dual camera units with the "hard wire" kits. The reviews were really good and I got a good price by asking the retailer for a package deal.

Hey Neil, could you review it after you've installed and used it for a while? I was looking at the Viofo as my next camera and like you said the reviews were really good and it's a good price for what you get. Pretty soon I won't have to worry about this extreme heat damaging another camera.

I will try to remember to pop back in & let you know what I think.

It sounds like you are relocating? Where are you headed to?
