Will the fl510s fit on the ranger? The 510 is < 1/2 the price of the fl910s!

I want to say this was already covered. That said I highly suggest just sticking with the OEM oil filter. I understand prices you're concern but for the cost of an oil filter that the manufacturer has recommended that really isn't too bad compared to other oil filters I've seen on the market I say stick with the 910S

Ditto I'd rather use a lower cost filter that is the same size - like a Fram or something like that - instead of using a different size filter that wasn't made for the application.

Cheap is not what I’m looking for in an oil filter.

The FL510 has a 22mm thread, the FL910 has a 3/4-16 thread.

I wouldn't use a Fram of any type even if it were free!
I guess I'm late to the game (or playing the wrong game). I've used Fram filters my entire auto life (going back 50 years). Have always been great.

What am I missing?

Comparisons I have read, they don't come out well in!

As the old Fram comercial said:
"You can pay me now or pay me later".
Things I don't skimp on is oil, oil filters and brakes.

I have used Fram on the last two Fords I have owned and gotten 250k miles out of each running Mobile One and Farm, this time my first change I went with the rich mans Amsoil will probably switch back to Mobile One and Fram it has my trust over the years ....

An FL-400S will fit and is slightly longer, i.e. easier to grab out of the fenderwell.
As far as I've seen, they're the same price.
Wally Mart's Supertech filters are still around $4 and are perfectly fine filters.
