I’m not sure yet bc I pulled a brake line when trying to install that 4th bolt driver front and I’ve been waiting for parts for over a week! lol

What part are you waiting on? Sorry to hear that.
I knocked something loose trying to get the j nut piece in place where I drilled the hole. As for the rear brakes ford doesn’t sell individual parts so I had to pay for for an entire line assembly that runs from around the firewall back to the rear axle. Live and learn haha

I did not. That wasn't mentioned in the steps I followed to change the tank size.

The link you posted is where I took the screenshot from... It says F series only, but I wasn't sure if that was outdated. I will continue to see if the gauge starts to read. I am going to check it in Forscan tonight too, just to make sure I didn't enter something incorrectly.

I was scared my gauge wasn't working, but then it finally got low enough to start reading. There is a lot of fuel that is above the sending unit. So it takes a few miles to get it down to a readable level.

The top half of the tank definitely lasts longer than the bottom half.

That's good to know. Thank you! I know we were careful with the float and the pump, so I can't imagine we damaged it, but I don't want to just... not pay attention to it.

I have an auxiliary tank in my Land Cruiser but it's like a motorcycle setup with the reserve valve.

You run on the auxiliary until it cuts off then switch to the main tank. So no gauge action on the first 22 gallons, then gauge on the 18 gallon in the main tank.

All that to say I have no clue of what I'm asking but I'm wondering if you could set a different number of gallons in FORScan to try to make the gauge "seem" more accurate? Especially regarding the second half.

Your gauge can't "see" the gas above the float right? It just keeps the float all the way at its top until a number of gallons is consumed.

I kind of see it in my head but I can't work it out ...

The gauge will still show close to empty regardless of the gallons coded into FORScan so would you put more gallons in FORScan to make the gauge display each "half" more accurately? Or would it be less? Sheesh, I'm an idiot ... =p

So that when you had 18 gallons left (half the 37 of the LRA tank), the gauge would show as a half tank?

I guess that's what I'm aiming for, the guage showing 50% and their being half the actual gas left (would that screw the estimated range up though? ugh ...)

I'm rambling but I'm really interested in the LRA tank ... Thanks!

my 10 speed brain tranny has been having issues for a long time ...

I've ordered an aux tank for my Jeep Wrangler, so I know how your set up works. Easy as pushing a button when you're empty!

Having less gallons set in FORscan would mess up your DTE (distance to empty). It tracks pretty well even though the tank level doesn't move. Some how the computer calculation tracks through the "dead" zones.

When the truck showed empty, and my DTE was at 0 I still got about 70 miles out of the tank until the engine died and I was actually at 0 miles.

I hooked up my laptop and checked FORscan at least 6 times to see if I had entered everything correctly and to see if it was throwing any codes. I was hard to trust it was reading correctly.

Glad to know I am not alone.
