Hi!

I saw a video that mentions to unplug the sensor going into the air filter cover. Mine has Velcro on it. I am mechanical challenged. How do I unplug it?

Also my air intake scoop doesn’t sit totally flush (see right side) small amount of daylight. Where it enters the air box is solid though. No worries?

The connector just unplugs once you grasp the release tab on the side(which is technically the top of the plug) See that brown part? Thats where it's release tab is.

The air snorkel should sit flush but that could be a simple defect of molding, shouldn't hurt anything.

Thanks! Just press in the brown part and pull. ??
As for the snorkel I am thinking on the afe snorkel upgrade and the velossa tech big ram air intake. Might wait until the spring though.

What exactly is the benefit of unpluging the sensor going into the air filter cover?

I'm amazed that someone is mechanically challenged by Velcro. Gosh, how does one get thier shoes on and off being challenged by Velcro? ?

Especially when it’s obviously factory tape and not Velcro at all.

Maybe the OP is like me. Simple nut and bolt assemblies are familiar. Main bolts… rod bolts… rings… ring compressors…. bore honing…. torque specs etc are familiar. I hate the myriad of electrical connectors and the fear of breaking one. Smarter to ask peers or watch a video than to break something.

I’m pretty sure OP’s talking about the hook and loop cable tie wrapped around the connector.

You know, the ones that look like these…

And then, there’s the retention clips in the connector - I think they’re simply the kind you pinch as you pull the connector away from the intake hose.

Cool, that’s tape though.

Of course it’s starting to get petty…. but it’s on everyone’s truck if you want to go look at it first hand.
Everyone’s truck? Maybe.

I went to the garage and checked mine. Whatever it was disappeared when I swapped in my Roush CAI - not hating on HAI btw ;)

It just looks way too fuzzy and patterned to be only tape. Maybe the OP can go check and let us know?
