I don't see how replacing them every couple of thousand miles at $10+ a shot can be cheap. My $60 washable AEM dryflow will last the life of my Ranger.
They're pretty inexpensive (paper)
Besides I like swapping old for new
To each their own!

I'll take a pic once my AEM dryflow shows up. My last one was grey, but that was a cone filter on a small car. The pic on Stage 3 seems to be the same.. we shall see.

PM me if you want the K&N with 18k miles in its original box for the price of shipping. Id say local pickup in Houston, but Houston is an hour from Houston and I am not driving to the other side of town to drop that silly thing off.

I'm still trying to unload my K&N!

I ended up going back to the dealership and getting a Ford cabin air filter. Of course they were apologetic about the tech "forgetting" to do the 20k maintenance that I paid for...

See... see what you people did! BTW it is the same color as the K&N on the backside and has fewer pleats.

When I got mine I was due for an oil change and state inspection, so that 'do not oil, do not discard' sticker went on immediately.

If you look at the comparison picture on the AFE site between the AFE and an OER (OEM?) you can see that the paper filter probably has 4-5 times the # of pleats/surface area

Do aftermarket air intakes like Mishimoto’s void any factory warranties?

Your, or @TOMDEE 's issues do not exempt you from societal rules.

On top of that, his excuse makes no logical sense. "I can't see so I'm gonna put everything I type in caps."

A. You already know what you typed, why are you reading it?

B. Everybody else's typing is still smaller.

C. There are much better ways to enlarge EVERYTHING on your screen.

If you can't see well enough to treat others on a forum with basic common courtesy you probably just shouldn't participate.

There are way better ways to address the vision than using ALL CAPS. That only improves their reading of the message they are sending. Way better to enlarge the text using the "zoom" features of the browser (CTRL + "+"), or computer's display settings (scale option of the display settings) so that the reading of the messages others have sent without using all caps are also easier read, then no excuse for sending in all caps since the preview of their message is also larger text.

If it is the cause of a failure it will void the part(s) that failed.
