I don't recall if I needed an extension - if I did, it was just a shorty. Turn the wheels to the left full lock to get better access.

Once I did that it was WAY easier - took me all of a couple minutes. My sausage fingers had trouble in the confined space otherwise. You go over the frame rail, thru the exhaust basically - it only works if it is cold - if it were hot, the cat would be tough to work around.
To be honest I came in from the top with long extensions and a swivel with a breaker bar and still had issues breaking it loose. What I didn't want to post was, yes it needed to be shocked so I used a ryobi 18v impact and hit the trigger sparingly/gingerly to get it loose. I don't want someone impacting and breaking something is why I didn't post this as at 69 I still couldn't break it loose. I'm not telling anyone to use an impact but if your careful as I was it works.

By the way I was at F__k it time when I used the impact as a last resort

Breaker bar with 19mm socket and wheels full lock right ? That's it ?
Did you need a short extension to reach down to the cap ?
As Rob stated & I in post 1616 with photo I went thru wheel opening wheels right . I wanted my leverage down low. Short socket on flex head ratchet no extension long leverage bar with bumping motion. Tire stopped my momentum when it broke loose. The rest was easy. :like:

Even after getting the stupid cap off, I found it a lot easier to do things thru the wheel well than from underneath - at least it opens things up a bit and gives you options - it it incredibly cramped down there.

Same here, but I had to as I had to remove the B&M stick. Easy install, and I guess I was lucky as when I first installed the B&M the OE cap simply screwed off with a light grip from a pair of mini-pliers.
Now, installing that B&M was a royal pain in the arse !!!

I did. I just slid underneath on my creeper with the vehicle sitting on the garage floor. I just used regular combination wrenches to remove the factory stuff and to install the MBS parts. I had no issues at all.

Looks like I’m no 67. Is the serial no longer engraved? I just see it written in the cardboard.

Thanks Mike! I hope I get to install it tomorrow.

Happy ? Day.

Look around, it's on the underside of the bracket and the underside of the dipstick, the box and backing card as well.

Good, turkey day install! do look at the instructions and notes, any questions let me know.

Thanks.

Yeah if I didn't already have my PPE Pan. I'd be jumping on that too.

Hi Mike (Fitzmotor),

Remote Transmission Dipstick:
Superb product! Superb development!

Just voted to enter wait queue (in case I hadn't voted before).
Please add me to waiting list (only qty = 1, in case I voted twice!). I'll be very patient.

Let me know when, where, how to remit payment (or pls. refer me, if prior post describes).
I've read all posts (week after week), but can't recall those details.

Much thanks,
--SpifNup

Ah yes. I was just looking on the dipstick itself - still haven’t located it yet - but, haven’t had coffee yet. Found it on the bracket.

Up at the handle, on the bottom of the stick itself, lightly engraved, it's there.

They are a matched set, once the fluid level calibration is set on the stick, the hose assembly serial number is engraved in the stick.

Have fun today, seems the factory cap is the biggest challenge, there are several different methods on how to get it loose.

From below, my recommendation, box end wrench (shorter one) and a rap with a hammer.

From above, use 1/2" drive if possible, 3/8 flexes too much, but will work.

Through the fender, I have not tried this one but it has yielded good results.

Look at the instructions first image, it shows the removal direction (can be confusing under the truck looking up.)

It is T day, so I may be hit or miss if you have any questions, but feel free to hit me up anyways if you have any questions.

Remember, (the sound of beating a dead horse) read the instructions, keep the wire loom clear of the bracket, keep the hose pad to the right of the aluminum housing.

It should drop right into place?

Told ya! Two sips of coffee and I realized that protective black tubing comes off the dipstick itself. Voilà! ?☕?
