My first winter project is going to be foam board the garage walls and ceiling... Supposed to get frost tonight or tomorrow... Winter is coming.
It sure would be a game changer, wouldn't it?

Now that "we" are into detailing, the amount of chemicals I have to bring in from the garage for winter really cramps my couch potato lifestyle! =D

I'm not looking for getting it to 70°, but if it could be 40°+, that would be great.

Post some pics, foam board looks like a possibility for my skill set, but I'm often confident when I'm sitting at my computer! =p

what? no one said measuring and cutting was involved!

Nice.

Is your basement finished?

We have a crawl space I want to get spray foamed, and our basement is finished - sort of but There is no insulation behind the walls... No moisture barrier either...

My dream is to build a house from the ground up that could be heated by a single candle. ? I love watching some of Matt risinger's build videos on youtube.

Mike from last line of defense just finished his house build out here, and it is almost exactly what I have in mind... Ahhh dreams.... Gotta finish moving into this house before dreaming of building one... ?
No, it's not finished and can have a water feature when it rains hard! =D

But, I'd like to strip the walls and repaint with clay paint (the existing latex is causing spalling)..

And some light landscape and earth work would stop the water.

It's about a 7 foot height with bare joists and plumbing under that (so maybe 6'5" in reality) and I do use it for our our game business (making games down there and pressing thousands of tins with an arbor press).

And that's an awesome dream! I think I remember an episode of this Old House with some ultra mod house in Boston where the hair dryer would raise the temp pf the house!

Same here... ? Everything looks like I could do it when I watch on YouTube...

Realistically I'll probably use 2 inch foam board with spray foam for the gaps, and tape over the joints. Than pit a combination of plywood and pegboard so I can organize...

Sounds like a good job to contract out. ?

We're going to attempt to epoxy the floor in the laundry/mechanical room downstairs this weekend... ?

My grandparents house in Baltimore would have a little river around the edge of the basement on wet days.... They also had a coal chute and coal room... ? Beautiful older home, just needed a bunch of tlc... I remember when we redid the staircase while I was growing UK the plaster and lath on the walls... Pretty sure it was asbestos.... ?

Having a rental house that uses off road diesel as a heating fuel, I picked up another 50gallons this morning before work.

$3.65/gal ($188) and thats considered a good deal. Just a couple years ago it was 2.22/gal. This is the only source of heat the house has. I supplement with space heaters.

The truck handles the extra weight just fine.

After reading about how you guys heat your homes, I will never complain about heating mine. Last year we had some crazy cold weather in December. One night it was -22° with a -46° wind chill. Our home is 3276 sq ft and the natural gas bill that month was $134.00. This months bill is $22.00.

Epoxy floors are pretty impressive and hard wearing.

Asbestos was a great material to work with and so versatile. Unfortunately, the downside was so horrible and affected so many. I fear we have asbestos ceiling tiles.

Good luck with the epoxy!

Went to the mothership to pick up a birthday present for my daughter.

This will help in the restoration of her 1972 FJ40. =)

But holy crap, this is really heavy in the box, how am I ever gonna wrap it?

Was suppose to be in SC hog hunting. Buddy had a painful not serious med issue so cancelled out. Drove up to my new happy place. Hiked in to my new favorite little river and got 12 rainbows and a brown in 2.5 hours of fly fishing. Good times on 3 wt rod! Fall has arrived in the Smokies.
