It really happens.
Good thing that quad didn't fall on that boy. Definitely worth getting those tie-downs for extra protection. My brother is also looking for an ATV ramp. He already ordered the headache rack from 4Wheelonline and the ramp and led light bars will be next.

I would not use tail gate ramps, I think they said the max weight on the tailgate is about 485lb and I'm not sure that is to all be on the top (back while open) of the tailgate. I would suggest removing the tailgate and getting ramps directly into the bed, if the bed is not long enough with the tailgate removed... get a trailer.

Good point! Never even crossed my mind.

Gotta luv this forum. :like: I have ZERO need for ramps. But just read the entire thread simply out of interest.

I have these ramps for loading my motorcycle on to my Ranger. The come apart in three sections and 10ft long allows for easier loading without being too heavy. 40 in. wide when set up which allows you to ride up into the bed with your feet down. Can be set up wider for ATV,s or other loads. 3 sections fold in half and are approx 5' long folded.

I bought a set from Tractor Supply (Reese Brand??) for loading a goKart into the truck. Folds up and fits in the bed nicely.

I don’t know much about motorcycles but are you missing a seat/saddle?

Good eye! I remove the seat to better sit fully flat footed. As the bike is ridden on or off the ramps, I lose touch with the ramp and/or ground after the rear tire hits the ground and the front is still coming down the ramp; uneasy feeling for about 7 feet rolling backwards. Going up is a lot easier once I got the technique down. The best way sounds insane: get a 10-12ft run at the ramp and ride right up in first gear, then pull in the clutch and apply the front brake as the front wheel gets to the edge of the chock (I have a rollover wheel chock I put in the box when hauling the MC) and stop there. Check that the front wheel is lined up properly and feather-clutch it into the chock. There are dozens of epic fail YouTubes, but it's relatively easy if you don't panic.

Thanks for the details Chris. ?

Out of curiosity, do you pronounce Prescott, WI the way folks in Arizona pronounce Prescott, AZ …”Press-kit” (like biscuit) or just how folks think…”Press Scott”?

We pronounce it like how Dak does.
Dak_Prescott_WAS_@_DAL_2021_(cropped).jpg

Actually there are 13 places called Prescott in the US and three more in other countries. Our town was originally called Elizabeth, WI, but changed to Prescott after Philander Prescott, in 1851, who wass commissioned by Josiah Snelling (Fort Snelling) to develop the area and he spoke Dakota Sioux.
Today we have a mostly gift shop/bar/restaurant downtown like others up & down both sides of the Great River Road, and lately more small-medium size industries on the outskirts.

I'm assuming that our pronunciation is derived from the way that he himself pronounced it, "prěss-kǒt" and that whomever settled Prescott, Arizona pronounced it "prěss-kƏt; (sounds like 'biscuit') because that's the way that person did.

Yep, however the person with the name pronounces it, is the way.

Of course, getting the name Poitras right in Canada can be a challenge - at least three regional pronunciations (Métis, French, Acadian) and of course, a fist full of incorrect English versions. ?

There's an old yarn about how Canada got its name....
A young American reporter was dispatched to cover the official ceremony of the British North America Act of 1867, creating the Commonwealths of the Northern Dominion. He found writing Commonwealths of the Northern Dominion repeatedly was growing tedious, and wondered if they had a shorter way to expess the title, as we had "USA." so he buttonholed an official and asked, " Do you folks have a way to abbreviate the name of your new country? " The proud official said, "Why, yes we do! C eh, N eh, D, eh!" The cub reporter when back to his newspaper and wrote the headline story: 'WELCOME CANADA, OUR NEW NEIGHBOR'
