Lay on your back under the fill cap and use a 19mm open wrench...use a small ball peen hammer and tap the end of the wrench TOWARDS YOUR RIGHT (clockwise)...from the top, this would translate to be counter clockwise to loosen...
Thanks, that is a start. Tried doing from the top but was to scared to turn to hard as it was not straight on.

And don't reef on the thing putting it back in. It doesn't have to be 'ohh my god' tight. Just snug it up, it won't go anywhere.

i really had to put some grunt into my dipstick cap to get it to open. whoever put it on must have meant for it not to be opened ever.

The cap's aluminum so becareful when loosening as to not slip and mess up the cap...light taps to get it loose and it'll be ok...when putting back on, make sure the dipstick is fully seated in the recess and hand tighten with wrench...it won't come off by itself...

Got the cap off. Actually went thru the passenger side wheel well. Popped a couple of push pins out and folded the flap back and it was straight on shot to the cap. Couple of quick turns on the rachet and it was lose. Got the pan switch just need to refill.

I need to address this in my instructions for dipstick install.
Yes, only torque to 'that's not going to fall out' tight and not 'crossed threads are the best locktite'-tight

So pan is replaced. Torqued to spec of 89 inch pounds and dipstick cap just so tight. Now to see if it leaks.

it will never drip while you watch it. go for a drive at the worst time of day worst area worst traffic no cell signal just as the urge to use the restrooms hits.... bam! transmission lets out all the fluid lol.

Bumping an old thread.

Thank you for this tip. Life saver, frankly. It made what was an absolute PIA job just a little bit easier.

Cheers.
