Thanks Tracy but it's really not that bad. Me and Annie spent the day relaxing out back and we were just fine.:shock:

That pic must have been taken after your hike around Estrella Lakes.

That notification pop up scared me when it came on during my drive back home. I spent the day in Schenectady, NY ( drank some wicked delicious mead! ) and drove back to western MA late at night. I'm honestly happy that it has this feature! And luckily there was a McD's open so a salty fry hit the spot like you wouldn't believe.
why you have the "no passing icon" ?! I can barely get the speed limit sign to popup!

Well dave, you get mentioned on the news almost everyday here in south texas. Makes 80 degree nights sound cold. I here you with the heat. I have the fortune of only working till noon. Then its a done day. We have the ac at 80. And still paying 600 bucks. It was 250 just 2 months ago :(

I hear ya Eli. I think you guys actually have much warmer winters than we do so at least we get a "touch" of cold for a little relief. Or should I say just enough to complain it's to cold. lol

Luckily when I do work it's only inside and the house I did last week had their AC set to 74* ?. I was loving it but I'm sure glad I don't have to pay that bill. It's 3,300 sq ft and a two story so with the pool I'd bet their bill will be at least $800-$900 this month. Stay cool brother the worst is almost over!

Damn, I feel for you guy's !!!!!
85 here today, was 63 this morning when I woke. AC kept at 72 degrees, and my electric bill last month with the Co-Op was $120.06.....and that included running the AC in the travel trailer (parked next to house) during the hotter parts of the day, like 2-5 pm. House is 2400 sq ft.
July and August bills may be a bit higher, but usually average $160-$175.

These are the times I’m so glad I invested in solar. My bills average $16.50/month and my solar does 100% of my house. I also installed a new a new Trane unit 2 years ago so that helps in keeping it cooler.

We thought about solar, but with our elec. bills so low it wouldn't pay....would take way too long to re-coup. For larger families, yeah, but just the 2 of us just dosen't pay.

What’s the break even time on cost of solar versus monthly savings? Not interested in dollar figure just timeframe. I’m not getting younger ???

There’s so many variables involved when trying to determine if it’s a good investment. You really need to plan on staying where you are for 8-10 years and also get multiple quotes. You’re going to pay the electric company so investing in solar will pay off in the long run.

There’s only 2 of us too and my house is only 1,700 sq ft so I didn’t need a huge system. After tax credits I paid $9,800 and now 8 years later it’s already paid for itself. I upgraded to better LG panels so they produce more with less panels on my roof. Now I just pay the taxes and fees and maybe one day (if we stay here longer) I’ll invest in battery backup.

Lol I figured mine to be 7-8 years when I first bought them. I took 2 years worth of electric bills and averaged it that way. You then have the electric company give you your yearly kWh usage and that’s how you design your system. Plus now you’re not getting their rate increases over the years too so your ROI is quicker.

The damper already took away my man card ... =(

And the neighbor's 8-year old daughter doesn't appreciate beer yet! =D

But on a more positive note, her father owns a local microbrew! So we always have beer-a-plenty for this lawn party!

Our neighbor—he and his wife are both vets and are pretty awesome folks. =)

points added back for the regular rootbeer and craft beers! wow what a set up he has!
