At least you got tires, wheels and suspension on yours. A lot more than we got with our '23's.

That's a '23? I thought that was MP1 after you finished your cannibalizing streak.

In all seriousness, though, anyone else notice that at least half of those mentioned were first-years after a redesign? Lends credence to those that say never to by a first-year.

I probably wouldn't either tbh.

Didn't read the article though.

The EcoSport is on their... I think it's funny to even mention since no one owns one.

do we think this may have actually been written by an AI? it almost seems like it.
reads to me like it scraped reviews.

hilarious. Road noise? Not an issue. I would think you would notice panel gaps if an issue also, but maybe they are assuming the purchaser in this scenario is blind and warning them. Hm… blind, super hearing? I see you daredevil.

I had one of those for a rental.

What a terrible vehicle.

I guess my wife & I aren't very informed buyers then. We bought her a new EcoSport last October. AWD, more gagets than we've ever had on a new car before, and 30 mpg. It's just us 2, so we don't care about rear leg room. Granted, it doesn't have the power the Ranger does, but I didn't expect it to.

I have a 2020, and it didn't have any of those issues. I guess they got the manufacturing line dialed in. If I really wanted something to be on that list, I guess I might say I can hear some wind noise, but it's really hard to say it's anything beyond what one might expect on any vehicle. It doesn't jump out at me like, Oh, that there is some wind noise!

It does lean a tad to the drivers side, but I don't really care.

Luckily I haven't had any complaints with the transmission.

One thing happened yesterday... it's been hot here and after about 1/2 mile I noticed the AC hadn't cooled down. I turned it off/on and then it worked fine. Something to keep an eye on.

The defective HVAC box affected those built into July 30 2020. Hopefully it was just a stuck actuator but definitely keep an eye on it and if you already haven't (I think you said you did before) I'd consider an extended warranty.

My 2019 must be a Unicorn. I’ve not had any build quality issues or teething problems that are described in the article. No excessive wind noise in cabin, no misaligned rear door or panels, no door panel noises, no HVAC issues, etc. I was even satisfied with the FX4 suspension, but I did upgrade to the Tremor Fox suspension, more or less out of peer pressure. For me, this Ranger has been one of the best vehicles that I have owned thus far. 10 foot poles be damned. I’d definitely buy this truck again.

Mine is a Oct 2020 build, so fingers crossed with was just a fluke.

Maybe you and I got unicorns because my experience has been the same - 4 1/4 years - no issues and I love this truck. Its been great.

I was hesitant to buy a first model year but I'm glad I did.

They are correct about the brakes on the 2018 F150. They wouldn't "grab" until pushed to the floor with a purpose. Mine went to the shop 3x in the first 6 months with nothing wrong found. That was one of the reasons I got rid of it. The Ranger isn't much better in that department, but I've kept it for 3 years which is a record for me and vehicles.

My 2019 had the HVAC box replaced under extended warranty. I have not had any other issues that were mentioned in the hit piece. In general my Ranger has been reliable and has not given me any problems. She is a keeper for sure.
