Personally I'd save the money unless you're already due for a replacement. What I did with mine is cut out the long piece at the bend so it more or less exits down and to the right (if you're looking at the bed). The exhaust comes out with enough speed to clear the bed. This was mostly chosen...
Anyone know the part number for the factory boot? I've done snapped the frame in several pieces.
I wound up using super glue and application of baking soda to repair it. Serves as a good lesson not to touch plastics in the cold.
Okay, I had mine replaced at 19k. Like many on here the trouble began with a cold start and either first or reverse feeling like the parking brake was engaged, it wasn't. Brought it into the dealer who dropped the fluid out and found chunks. So, in June of 2024 I think, the transmission was...
Recently I've started not using my driveway... so as I'm bouncing through the ditch it's handy to have that extra gearing. Yes, the red crayons taste best.
Funny you mention that, I got the aluminum ones from them back in April and have performed well. I don't take too many hits on the underside but it's way better to be safe then sorry. The issue I'm having now is with departure angle and trying not to rip the entire bumper off.
Rough Country gets a really bad wrap but it's really not that bad. The welds on the diff protector I got look like a Sunday job but it's functionally 100% serviceable. For a spacer system though, it's only a static piece of metal, who gives a hoot. If it's a solid piece of metal it'll work just...
What kills me is the ECU knows both how much fuel is flowing in AND how far you've gone with a pretty decent amount of accuracy. So, why are they all off? [Reaches for tinfoil hat]
After I hit a second deer with my 2017 Focus ST I figured it was time to get out while the used market was still red-hot. After hitting 2 deer with it I still got out more then I paid, got X plan pricing on the Ranger too so it didn't make much sense keeping the ST around though I do absolutely...
I ordered a skid off eBay that was aftermarket similar to the stock skid. I found that it's a little thicker steel and a little bigger in all directions that matter. Sandwiching the two will be possible with the aftermarket towards the ground. A little bit of persuasion may be needed so they sit...
So far I've 3d printed a couple cubes about 15mm thick that moves the skid down just enough to offer a little overlap. I'm also looking at getting a second skid plate to create a sandwich of sorts... maybe add a 3rd one, who knows?
I've seen a bunch of aftermarket ones and I just plain didn't...
Right now I'm working out spacing the stock skid down a little to protect it some. The stock skid isn't beefy enough to help much but for about $15 in parts it's cheap enough insurance.
Wait... That part comes off?

Looks like the only option is to replace the whole vehicle.
Just to update, I've been back in the same spot a few times and have dragged ass through this same spot but haven't had the same issue again. I've got skids now and am waiting on sliders to arrive. All of you have been very helpful, thank you.
I just noticed the front of the passenger side lower control arm mount must have taken a hit, is there some form of brace or skid I can attach or weld on to prevent any additional damage? I've been searching but have come up short.
