I had a conversation out of the blue with a dude from Australia on another forum and he remarked that the vehicles (Ranger/Everest) with the 10R80 down there come/came with a dipstick and gave me two part numbers. Of course, we can't order them here in the US and online parts searches are meh at best.

If anyone lives near a dealer or could make some phone calls, I'm sure that there are a stack of us over here in the US that would be interested in some information.

Supposedly the part numbers are:

Dipstick tube: JB3Z7A228C (JB3Z-7A228-C)?
Dipstick: JB3Z7A020A (JB3Z-7A020-A)?

Really interested to see what the price works out to on these, of course shipping them over here would probably make it a poor deal, but maybe a group buy could be done.

I'm almost positive the Aussie Ranger doesn't use the 10 speed trans so I doubt it would fit. I believe the NA Ranger was the first Ranger to use it.

The newer ones do. I do know I looked at the 2024 Everest and it is using the 10-speed, be that the R60 or R80, they should both be the same as far as the dipstick goes.

Interesting - Thanks for that - although I'm not sure I'd automatically assume the R60 and R80 would be the same as far as the dipstick goes. Maybe, but Ford seems to like to change things - I watch a lot of Youtube guys and that is one common criticism of Ford - how there are so many variants of things - GM apparently re-uses a LOT of parts so there is a lot less variation.

True enough. Nothing is ever easy but I'd settle for 'close enough to work with modification'.

I hope this experimentation goes better than the left hand A pillar handle did..... That actually was a surprise to me that it didn't fit right.

Watch, the Aussie stick will be on the left side! ?
Nahh, left-hand threads on the mount. Doesn't everything spin backward there?

I kid. Their country is on my bucket list of places to visit.

So I just tried them. Ford will not allow me to view it, it's like they are not good part numbers. I work at Jones Ford in North Charleston, SC. I work in parts. Sorry guys I was hoping!

Whew, that's interesting, I'm still working on a solution to the dipstick delete, taking forever:curse:

Maybe one of our Aussie members can obtain the part #### and then look up on their Ford web sites to get a price and availability. :like:
They could also verify that their Rangers do or don't have the trans dipstick. ??
