Just a simple job over the weekend, though, a simple job means I got ton include my son which is always fun. We installed the Redline hood damper struts - for the same reason I installed a damper on the tailgate - to protect his little noggin. He loves to get up in there with me and when he was filling the oil for me last oil change I thought I should add some of these to my hood after I asked him to "try and not bump this rod here, buddy." ?

Installed some Lund SX series fender flares and a stubby antenna.

The gloss looks gorgeous...

Ohh, and the fender flares look good too. LoL

Does the stubby effect the reception of your radio any?

From what radio stations I listened to so far, it seemed to be as good as the stock antenna. I needed it to clear the garage better after lifting the front by 1.5".

Dropped off at Ford Dealer for post road trip oil change, tire rotation etc. I also had to basically demand they check the transmission fluid…$195 for an hour labor and $30 for trans oil…it was a quart low! It may have never been checked before. I have to get the aftermarket trans dipstick so I can check myself. They don’t call them stealerships for nothing.

Ughhhh! I want to finish my fender flare project, but it keeps raining! I don't want to paint in the high humidity or rain. Boooo!

In other news, my wife had off from work yesterday for Juneteenth, but I still had to work (from home), so she took the Ranger to the beach. It's not often I get to see my beloved truck drive away, and I have to say it looks cool as hell!

When she got home, she warned me that she backed into the driveway really close to the garage. When I left for work this morning, I looked at how close she got to the garage and was really surprised. She couldn't have gotten any closer to the garage...

...BECASUE SHE HIT IT!

?

There is a dent in the garage door, and I found that my "shower tube" had been shoved back in the mount all the way up against the glass at the back of the cab. I readjusted the PVC tube off the glass and went to work, and I'll try to knock the dent out of the garage door later.

On my list of things to do to the truck is actually shortening that PVC tube and re-doing the end cab a little better.

"Really close to the garage" was a woman's form of admission! ?

Gave Soupie a good bath. I've done a few soap-and-rinses since the end of winter (just foam it with the soap canon with Mr. Pink, let sit, then rinse—no rubbing—also did an under carriage rinse with just water after winter).

But it was a nice day yesterday and I wanted to try that new pressure washer. That Active 2.0 worked so nicely and is so much quieter than my previous Greenworks. Soupie was close to the road behind my wife's Mazda (Snowie - hey, we gotta name these things), and with 75 feet of hose, it was really only the sound of water coming out the gun, the unit in the garage was pretty quiet.

I also tried out the Mitt-on-a-Stick. It worked great for the hood and roof. Being short, it was nice being able to do the roof easily. BUT ... a combination of my atrophied damper arms and the weight of the mitt material means that mitt-on-a-stick is an expensive mistake. So much so that I'm going to take it off the list of Soupie stuff on my "build" page.

I did notice that I have at least a dozen tiny acorn dings on the hood and roof. Kind of a bummer (LOL, it has more dents than my old FJ which crashed through its share of branches and enough off-road bashing to break both front leaf springs!).

A couple walking by stopped to ask what smelled so nice. My wife had just soaped up her Mazda with the bubble-gum-scented Mr. Pink and I had just sprayed peppermint oil in my engine so that my engine cover mice can feel fresh! =p

These pics are from this morning and it's cloudy, but that graphene and aerospace protectant do a nice job, even on this always-parked-outside Ranger! =)

This is from yesterday after I finished the front half of the truck...

I finished the back half this morning... She looking good. I'll post more pictures in the coming days as it needs to stay dry for another 12 hours....

Did 2 more foam and rinse cycles followed by foam and wash, followed by iron remover, clay, another wash to get off all the iron remover and clay residue. Than a prep wipe down and a 1 step polish to make sure I got all the previous sealents off the paint.

After the polish I did a coat of kamakazi miyabi topped an hour later with kamakazi ism 3.0.

Alot of work, but the results are amazing.

In other news, the pod arrives Friday and we start putting furniture in it, house closes the 28th and we head west July 1....
