Strait from my service manager that worked closely with Ford Engineers informed me that the 10R80 is rated for FT LBS, not Newton Meters. Great example, the 6.7 has the 10R140 Wich is rated for 1400 FT LBS of TQ. If you have it reversed it to NM the transmission would barely have the holding capacity for the TQ output on the 6.7.

What are you talking about! lol Newton Meter (Nm) is an alternative measurement similar to kmh and mph. The 10r80 is rated for 590 Ft lbs OR 800 Nm. You said 800ft lbs which was incorrect.

10R140 would be 1400 Nm or 1033 Ft Lbs.

Again you are incorrect. The new 6.7 is rated at 1,050 FT LBS to 1,200 FT LBS. How would the 10R140 hold up if the rating was in Newton Meters? It won't. That is way it's rating is in FT LBS. Therefore the 10R80 is also rated in FT LBS at 800 FT LBS, not Newton Meters.

You're really going to continue to argue after literally posted screen shots of the conversion and the FORD 10r80 part number breakdown. Ford may be doing something different with the 6 series (6r140) then. Which has nothing to do with the 10r80...but, the 10r80 is 590ft lb or 800 Nm. Just like the 10r60 443ft lb or 600 Nm.

The 10R80 is supposedly rated to 1000hp...I don't think the 2.3 can get there...but, you never know! hahah
10R80 couldn't handle my stock motor for more than 95K miles...but maybe it's because I'm such a light foot...

When "hopping up" any vehicle, there are a myriad of things to consider. While you've mentioned the parts you want to put under the hood, you haven't written out what you're expecting?

About all you can get when using pump gas (91/93 octane), is about 370 shaft HP, and about 425 on the torque. This takes a bit better breathing, the optional Ford-marketed turbo, pipes, and the larger down pipe. You really don't need the blowoff valve, unless you like squeally things! If you buy the Borla made, Ford sold exhaust system, you'll have to buy a new muffler and 3 inch pre muffler pipe. It you want a bit more temperature control, you'll need a larger intercooler too.

I surprised anyone can run E30 while using the standard fuel pump. Anything higher will certainly require a higher flow rate than the stock pump can handle.

You ask about fuel economy. Well, the more power you want, the more fuel you'll burn, and that's a given. If you want fuel economy, you shouldn't have purchased a Ranger! While I can get about 17.5 in town, and about 23 on the highway, it only happens when I drive like an old maid school teacher! To give you an idea, 10 runs down the quarter mile, uses about 1/4 tank of fuel. Economy? Heck no!

Lastly, I don't know how much you're willing to spend? But I will say this, you'd best not be on a budget!

e50 is fine in our trucks. The fuel pump and injectors can support it just fine.

Why would Ford rate anything but Freedom units?

Didn't that mess start with someone quoting a transmissions ability to hold in hp instead of torque? Did Ford also add Stage ratings for the 10R80? I'm claiming a Stage 2 because it has a software update.

We should be doing this for superduty trucks that get broed out with diesel engines that are fx4s or tremors with 15 inch drop hitches that make departure angles completely useless and off road and stuff. Not someone who makes the truck better!!

We. Eed to bash this type of useless truck!
