It could very well be the dreaded blend door issue - you can read up on the issue by searching in this forum. Searching “blend door” or “climate control” will likely yield some results.

Best of luck. ?
Thanks
They may try and deny warranty, as is the Ford way.
Fight them on it, it's not a cheap fix if out of pocket.
I do have extended warranty, hope that helps
Mine was doing that the other day, I "restarted it" by turning the heat all the way up, then all the way down. Though I still get an issue where at lowest setting air is only coming out of the driver side. I'll live with it for now lol
I just went out to truck for lunch and it is working now, however I have appointment for Thursday to bring in.
Mine did this too, just out of warranty. Ford has been beyond unhelpful on the issue. This among many other issues precipitated my move back to the inferior Tacoma. At least it has a reliable motor, transmission, and HVAC system to make up for the other shortcomings.
I feel same. This super crew Lariat model cost me some. I expect more for my money.

HERE is an extensive thread on it.

From the SSM

SSM 49264 - 2019-2020 Ranger - Climate Control Temperature Will Not Adjust With Clicking/Snapping Noise From The Dash - Built On Or Before 30-Jul-2020
Some 2019-2020 Ranger vehicles built on or before 30-Jul-2020 may experience poor and/or no temperature change when the temperature is adjusted in the climate control system. There may also be a clicking/snapping noise from behind the instrument panel. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1082 and/or B1081 may also be retrieved from the front controls interface module (FCIM). This may be due to an issue with the blend door and its controls. To avoid repeat repairs, it is recommended to replace the climate control housing assembly (service base part# 18478). Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 412-00.

So, my wife took truck to Ford this morning and it is the blend door issue. We are covered by warranty. They are ordering parts. Rental will be provided.

Well my issue with the hot air blowing out the driver’s side while on A/C came back again. It started working again last fall so I didn’t bring it in, but sure enough first warm day this spring and it’s back. Dropped it off at Ford dealer 12 days ago and just got it back today, luckily it only cost me $100 deductible on my extended warranty. The service guy said he had another 2019 Ranger in with same problem but the guy had no warranty. My wife told him it was BS with it being a known issue that anyone had to pay for it all. As recommended by people on here I checked the dash installation before I left dealership. Other than a couple of small scratches (mostly down low) it all looked good and no rattles or squeaks. A/C blew out cold air the whole way home!

We took truck on Saturday for regular maintenance. I asked if they could update SYNC for me while we had to wait for extended period. After the update, the AC works fine. Now we are not sure if it was blend door issue or not?

That price sounds pretty fair. I've seen estimates of $1700 on here an one for over 3K. I bought an extended warranty for my truck 2 years after buying it for this reason.

If you're handy an don't mind digging into your dash there's a YouTube video of a home repair. It only replaces the actuator but it's on around $50. If the system is warped it will probably come back in another 50K miles.
Hi gues!

Looks like I'm up next! Scheduled with the dealer for July 10th. I'll keep you all posted. 2019 Lariat. This is my second Ranger. The first was a 1994 and I had it until I bought this one. The 2019 does everything I ask it to do and love it. No issues until this. I tend to be an optimist and I'm hoping that doesn't change!

Besides this issue my '19 was trouble free. I was just up in your area last week buying my '23 Tremor from Corwin Ford. Nice area up there!

I had mine done for the passenger side., back in April. It took three different dealerships to diagnose it, and now I think the noise is slowly coming back two months after. Just had the passenger side blend door replaced, dealership did not do the whole climate box.

It will most likely keep coming back unless the entire unit is replaced. The TSB states to replace the entire box to avoid repeated repairs.

That has been my major concern now, especially since I am out of warranty.

Edit to add, I have noticed that when I turn the vehicle on or adjust the temp I don't always notice the noise. However, if I drive home from work (35-40minutes) when I park and shut the truck off I can hear the blend door ticking. Going to drive around and then go to the dealer so I can show them it still does it.

So, air conditioner failed at 40,000 miles. Re set attempts failed and just attempted the blend door actuator motor replacement at ~41,000 miles without success.

Ford knows it has a problem: they designed, resourced, installed, and then identified the issue. Their hope is that owners encounter this problem after their warranty has ended.

I’ll restate that Ford knows this is a problem, they allowed a defective part to be resourced and designed the dash in a way that it cannot repaired in a reasonable manner.

It is their problem because nobody can say the owner abused or failed to maintain the climate system.

Ford owns this problem but they are passing it on to the owner.

The vehicle cannot be resold without being repaired or the owner must fix it at their own expense causing a massive loss to the owner either way the owner solves the problem. Until that happens, Ford is also causing a denial of capability to the owner, cooling air to the operator/ owner of the vehicle. They are literally hurting the person that believed in Ford, the owner is losing coming and going here.

This is a massive failure in Ford’s part and now draws into question Ford’s business ethics since they are ignoring that they caused this.

Since they have failed at this, what other time bombs has Ford “engineered” into this vehicle?

I’m glad I was there for Ford this time but a company that uses laissez-faire as a business model, today, is unethical.

In about 90 days the wife will be up for a new vehicle. I think the Bronco that I’ve reserved will be released back because I can’t trust Ford engineering their business model, their ethics and they don’t stand by owners.

The other noteworthy "time bomb" albeit an inexpensive fix should one be a DIY is the EGR system failures, either a bad design or cheap component, a bit of both IMO. In the US market Ford is only required to warrant the EGR system for 24mo/24k miles, so you can read on this site how many owners have experienced problems. This after I recollect Ford touting some yrs back their new and improved EGR design, maybe the design has been improved but seems reliability took a step backwards.

But Ford certainly isn't alone in saddling the customer with costs associated with faulty designs, hence in the US the proliferation of class action law suits.
