The Ranger needs to get bigger, or else ford wouldn't be able to produce it anymore due to eco-regulations.

The size of a vehicle dictates how efficient it needs to be, and that shit just gets stricter and stricter as years go on.. good part of why EVERYTHING has bloated over the past couple decades..

Just give it a few years and the Maverick will be Ranger sized, the Ranger will be F150 sized, the F150 will be Super Duty sized, and the Super Duty trucks will be in a totally new and bigger size category where the cabs now match the width of the dually fenders.

The rear seats will turn into a full size bed.

Then Ford will release a new "small" truck below the Maverick and call it the Comet.

Or the Courier.
Remember those?

I looked mine up on KBB today for shits and giggles to see what I could put towards a Raptor if I were so inclined.
Trade in was $39000 and Private Party was $44000!!!
I just bought it used and put 3000 miles on it since December and it’s appreciated $7k!!!!

An aftermarket bumper could improve the front end enough to make it interesting for a raptor. But wait, it’s a first model year and you know the ADMs will be insanity.
For fun, I filled out my details on KBB and the trade-in value came back as $38,960. Mine's a 2022 XLT Splash with 3,300 miles on it. Mine's a year newer and has very low miles. I suppose the values are higher on the west coast.

Truth! Just the other day I parallel parked in one shot. I don't want bigger.
For some of us, parking is a challenge even with the Ranger. I was totally shocked when I came back to my truck last week after parking. My only theory is that Tracy drove over from Alabama and moved my truck somehow. ?

This is the first vehicle I have owned with a backup camera. The first time I backed into a spot relying mostly on the camera I shocked myself how crooked I was. Now I use it as an aid and actually use mirrors and turn my head.

I've always used my mirrors and never rely on the rear camera either. The only thing I'll use it for is to check the distance of how close I'm getting when I'm backing up against a wall.

That could be true, except that one of the major drivers seems to be the ability to put in a bigger engine...

i recall my camera when backing in was like a trapezoid of sorts. You line up the camera lines with the curb, only to find out the other side was ghastly crooked.
I blamed the camera and eventually learned the angles to park better.
