That is a great attitude if you are paying cash. Try financing right now beyond three years. I'd be driving another car if the banking stuff wasn't bonkers atm a week ago.

Sort of ironic ad placement on your post for me...

That amount is a bit extreme for a truck... lol.

I financed....

But I had done all the research on what my finance options were before I walked in, figure of speech as most of my dealings were over email....

I was locked on for 2.9% at best, and 4.9% at worst...

Lol at the ad.

I tried the new 4-banger turbo on a '23 z71 silverado I had for a rental while my Ranger was at the doctors getting its bumper and rear quarter panel replaced... piece of s#!t
The engine went eco (cyl 2&3) shutdown way too soon and didn't bother how to change it/shut it off. So, yeah, on paper it sounds like a powerhouse but felt like a total dog on the siverado. And the Colorado twins aren't that much lighter...not for me
They do the cylinder deactivation shit on 4 cyl turbos too?

Once upon a time, I had a 2015 1500 All Terrain. I loved the truck in many ways but.... after 3 years and 38k pavement princess miles they told me I need both front hubs/bearings done...nope... traded in on Ram.

So how did the Ram work out?

What was the estimate to fix your truck? I hate dealing for a vehicle based on payments. There are too many variables that can be hidden in the payment. The two that would initially scare me are interest rate and term. LOL, my wife is still mad about me buying a Ranger. She wanted me to keep my 2011 Tacoma and repair issues as needed. In the end, it cost me @ $20,000 to go from a ten year old Tacoma to a new Ranger.
its always a concern (where they try to hide money) but I worked at a dealer for many years so when I see a place trying to play games like that I'll be sure to call them out on it. As far as the repairs go, I dont recall the numbers exactly, but between the repairs and some other actual maintenance the truck needed it would have cost me about $5k or 6k to keep it vs the roughly $2k it cost me to get the new one. Frankly, after having the Ram for a few months, I didnt regret it at all.

@RANGER_MARC - it took a little getting used to but I ultimately loved it... I had a couple small beefs with it. (wanted full leather but it wasn't an option at the time, had the tow pkg with the "premium" mirrors that i discovered later.. weren't heated????? WTF?) but really other than that it was a great truck for the time I had it (other than the milage LOL).

Ultimately, I was going to keep it but... thanks to Rona blowing up the used car market, I got offered a ridiculous amount of money for it. I really didnt NEED a full size truck anymore, and with gas hitting $6 a gallon, I decided to let it go and bought my Ranger.

What are they competing for? A dick waving contest over trivial differences?

Are a majority of owners going to use them beyond Instagram or going to Walmart?

Do people really spend time in their life pondering which truck is better like these inanimate objects are some fictional WWE wrestlers?
It's not about what you're actually going to use the truck for, but what we tell ourselves we're going to use the truck for. We lie to ourselves real well, and that's what they market to. Every vehicle ad these days shows the car/truck in the mountains, offroading. A majority of guys go "yeah.... I'm gonna do tha!" And then they don't.
Just sayin.
