I find the ranger does sit too high for a "mid size" truck. But eh whatever.

gots a damper? Somehow I pictured you a little more...manly? ?
Was thinking the same thing. CROSSTEK. LOL. How much time did you invest before you bought the truck? Didn't notice what you were getting? You forgot something James.....Get a damn Ridgeline then and "Shut the hell up!" ?
The wheel step will help a lot if you really are stacking the bed full of useful stuff. Thus, you can't have "good placement" of things as everything is needed? If they lowered the bed rake, you would have decreased towing capacity and reduced off-roading capabilities. In addition, if they chopped some of the roof, it wouldn't be comfortable for you giantsWow, never thought I would see such a spirited response. Just to clear the air I never owned a Frontier and have been on the Forum ever since ordering my Ranger back in August 2022.
I'm just over 6 feet tall, when someone 1st mentioned the step I thought they were talking about to get into the cab but now that I clicked on the link I see its to make it easier to get into the bed and that makes some sense.
From a design standpoint just don't get why the bed (and roof) are so high. Coming from a 2015 Tacoma with a 2.7 and 4 spd auto there were so many things I loved about the Ranger (towing capacity more than double that of Tacoma, more power and better mpg, and the fact I could order a supercrew cab to keep the 6 foot bed) that I didn't bother driving one before I bought it or before I signed on the dotted line. The bed height wouldn't have changed my mind, just puzzles me a bit.
I saw a 6'3 person saying it was comfy, surprised me.All 5g rangers have the same wheelbase. The lack of options in the XL makes a big difference. I bet there is a 5-700 lb difference from a stripped XL to a loaded lariet. Not to mention going 4wd.To be fair these trucks have more rake then just about anything I've seen on the road, and for some reason it seems especially pronounced on the base XL supercabs. It almost looks like it has a lift on the rear from factory. It could just be the shorter wheelbase that makes it seem more extreme than it actually is. ?

Rangers have more rake and "more getting sh!t done" that other trucks too! =)To be fair these trucks have more rake then just about anything I've seen on the road, and for some reason it seems especially pronounced on the base XL supercabs. You are correct! My base 2-wheel drive XL Scab has a stickered payload of 1,863 pounds. All 5g rangers have the same wheelbase. The lack of options in the XL makes a big difference. I bet there is a 5-700 lb difference from a stripped XL to a loaded lariet. Not to mention going 4wd.

Thats EXACTLY how I pictured him....
???
Is it the hair? It's the skinny jeans isn't it?gots a damper
The only real listed difference is between the 2 WD and the 4 WD, about 200 lbs. Doesn't matter if Scab or Screw. There are probably a few more lbs depending on electronics, difference between tire sizes. All 5g rangers have the same wheelbase. The lack of options in the XL makes a big difference. My XLT crew has a payload of 1463. Thats an extra 400 lbs of truck pushing down on the suspension. You are correct! My base 2-wheel drive XL Scab has a stickered payload of 1,863 pounds.
Although, I may have a thousand pounds of accessories! =D
Look at the payload of a fully loadef platinum f250. It is pathetic because of all the fancy stuff like massage seats and a giant sunroof. I have seen them as low as 1500 lbs.The only real listed difference is between the 2 WD and the 4 WD, about 200 lbs. Doesn't matter if Scab or Screw. Must say, even the thought of driving, much less owning a Ridgeline makes me cringe. Seriously is zero, less than zero, that I like about those "trunklidless" Accords. You forgot something James.....Get a damn Ridgeline then and "Shut the hell up!" ?
I personally chuckle when I see the F250's but the guys just HAD to have the diesel! Yep. Put your groceries in the bed and you're loaded up. Even worse, 95% of those idiots have no clue about the cargo capacity of their trucks. Now granted they have towing capacity out the wazoo. But cargo? Yea, not so much.My XLT crew has a payload of 1463. Thats an extra 400 lbs of truck pushing down on the suspension.

Don't sweat the lunatics in this asylum. All are just having fun. And 99% of the fun on this thread is due to us suffering through the clown that insisted the "too high ass end" was a design defect. Talk about roasting.... that poor bastard is beyond having a fork stuck in him.Wow, never thought I would see such a spirited response. Even a 100 lb difference is tough to understand. What would the weight difference be? leather seats, LED lights???All 5g rangers have the same wheelbase.
