Is it me or does the base Ranger seem "too tall"

Maybe I read the OP post wrong, but I thought he was asking about the overall height, not just the bed. And yes, it is higher than most 'midsize' trucks, definitely higher than the 4G line.
All Rangers have the same suspension, front and rear, whether 2WD or 4WD. It cuts down on manufacturing different chassis and suspension set ups.

Is the truck "tall", yes; is it too "tall", no. But then I'm 6'5''.... BTW, I noticed its height before I bought it.
How's the weather up there? my brothers are 6'5 and 6'2, so I come from a family of giants.

I'm 5'9'' and I lifted my truck all around (the rear is higher too). I got sliders to act as a step, so I use them to get in and out.

i do not mean this rude but it will sound that way. if a person is under 5 foot 7 inches tall most trucks will seem tall when trying to reach tie down points. the ride height and suspension is not the issue. the height of the bed wall or "depth" as some say is what makes it hard for shorter people to reach the tie downs. older rangers and toycomas had shallow beds. that means reaching stuff is easier if one is not average or taller height. the deeper bed has many more pros than it does cons. the 5g ranger is one most well thought out trucks of its day. its not perfect. it cannot fit every person. life is not fair.

@Icemanhd you might want to consider adding a rear mount step.
No worries getting in and out of it at all, just seems like the back end has airshocks that are at 120 psi. Wonder if a higher trim level (XLT or Lariat) has the small steps in the corners of the rear bumpers like on other trucks.

Nope, they don't.

If this is an issue, get the wheel side steps or a step ladder. It's interesting you are willing to avoid commenting to solutions that are available but willing to inquire about different solutions that are not available.

I am absolutely fine with the bed height. I really don't know why people complain. Get a damn Ridgeline then.
You forgot something James.....Get a damn Ridgeline then and "Shut the hell up!" ?

I don't think I've ever seen those on anything other than GMC & Chevy trucks, so as far as I know, that's strictly a GM option, at least stock. I imagine that you could probably get an after-market bumper with those steps if you wanted.

Darn Kent you're almost a foot taller than me. lol I'm only 5'7" and have never had any problem with the height of my Ranger or any of my F150's.

I have the Bestop TrekStep on mine. Yes it is pricey, but works great. I use it alot. Even the wife says it one of my best mods.
