Is it me or does the base Ranger seem "too tall"

Full disclosure, my previous truck was a 2015 Tacoma so perhaps I'm still getting used to the 23 Ranger XL I got last week. The suspension on the base XL with stock wheels/tires seems awful tall, significant amount of room between the top of the tires and the bottom of the fenderwells. Wonder if Ford only made 1 suspension height that can cover everything from the base XL with stock wheels/tires to the FX-4 and other offroad packages with larger tires.

If it was a few inches lower I can't imagine it would hurt payload capacity, the tailgate would be lower, and the truck would have a tiny bit less aerodynamic drag.
Side steps and a bed step and the truck's not too tall anymore! =) I love the visibility from it.

Darn Kent you're almost a foot taller than me. lol I'm only 5'7" and have never had any problem with the height of my Ranger or any of my F150's.
I'm 5'6" and without the side steps I'd have to do this:

Wow, never thought I would see such a spirited response. Just to clear the air I never owned a Frontier and have been on the Forum ever since ordering my Ranger back in August 2022.

I'm just over 6 feet tall, when someone 1st mentioned the step I thought they were talking about to get into the cab but now that I clicked on the link I see its to make it easier to get into the bed and that makes some sense.

From a design standpoint just don't get why the bed (and roof) are so high. Coming from a 2015 Tacoma with a 2.7 and 4 spd auto there were so many things I loved about the Ranger (towing capacity more than double that of Tacoma, more power and better mpg, and the fact I could order a supercrew cab to keep the 6 foot bed) that I didn't bother driving one before I bought it or before I signed on the dotted line. The bed height wouldn't have changed my mind, just puzzles me a bit.

Ford has messed around with height. Earlier models were too low.

Even if you wear frilly dresses and do up your hair, we can't all be Goldilocks.

There is a great advantage with having such tall bed sides. Bootlegging water... on the West Coast.
Saw a news story how investment companies are buying property for the water rights, with the plan to cash in big, soon.
I do love a great investment, not sure I would cross that line though.

You're lucky your legs are long enough to reach the ground...
