Hey guys. Long time lurker, first time poster.

I just installed some new Icon delta joint UCAs and got some creaking sounds. Realized I didn’t grease them yet.
so I did just that. It didn’t say anywhere that the bolt holding them in had to be loose before greasing them up.
So I pumped some grease into them until some leaked out.
Today I checked and noticed that one side of the bushings are blown out and pancaked looking.
Is there a way to save these or are they borked already?

yeah, I’ve made sure to do that. Just thought I’d give it a try here and see if anyone might have known a fix.

I'm thinking borked.
At the very least you're going to be removing them and looking at them.
Likely the run with no grease (creaking) is what did this, and greasing after was too late.
With luck on your side, they might go back together properly post grease application.
Otherwise, prepare to purchase some replacements.

You’ve had trouble with them too?
On my own vehicles? Nope. I have seen others have issues including vendor shocks. Mind you at the cost that icon is selling thier stuff for you would think the stuff would be higher quality

UPDATE

I was able to work the bushings back in last night. I found that the bolt holding the UCAs were waaaaay over tightened. I was able to finally loosen them and then rocked the truck side to side and noticed this started to settle them back in.

I tightened back up and took it for a drive. By the time I got back the bushings went back to their original form.

I did purchase some replacements still and also found an off-road shop that works with icon. Was going to take the truck there to have them check everything once the bushing get in.

You should not have to loosen the UCA mount to grease them. They have channels internally to move the grease around. You want to grease until some starts to spit out.. Now over tightening them is a different story.

the only problem is that I can’t find torque specs anywhere. So I don’t know if I’m over tightening or what. (After loosing them)

No aftermarket company is going to give you factory specs. You need to go to the service manual for that. If you search, you might find an online version on this very forum.

Icon specifically says to loosen prior to greasing. I grease mine at tire rotations or when they get too squeaky. Always tighten back up at ride height.
