Just taking notes, while waiting for my XL to graduate from Final Preparation to my driveway. I am getting it with a naked bed. Is spray-in or drop-in better? Biggest loads I will have is furniture moving for friends and family.
Like some others, I like the BedRug. Easy on the knees, my groceries and cases of water don't slide around, it's easy to clean, and I get comments from the delivery drivers that they've never seen anything like it.

I have the full liner, which costs close to what a spray in does. I think it helps quiet it down a bit (but that's probably more in my head than reality).

I guess I didn't like the idea of my bed paint getting scoffed up in prep for the spray in, but that shouldn't be a reason not to do a spray in.

Whatever works best for you (and I do like that you can get a spray in tinted to any colour).

$453 for the 6 foot bed:

Received ‘low battery’ warning over the FordPass app yesterday. Going out at daybreak to connect a charger. Haven’t driven Lariat in over two weeks-due for refueling shortly.?
That's why I got the CTEK that @AzScorpion suggested. Soupie does a lot of driveway shuffling and not many long trips, so the battery's always getting taxed.

I also got the app warning but now that I use the CTEJK, I don't. The key, for me, was ease of use.

Following AzScorpion's advice, I wired it in and have the plug sticking out the front. I also bought enough extenders that I can pull up 8 feet from the garage door and still easily plug it in.

My post on it:

Spray in bed liners are always the best as moisture gets trapped under plastic bed liners. No bed liner in my Lariat as I love looking at the $600 White Platinum Pearl paint! I usually throw a blanket or moving pad back there when I hauling something. :)

That's a great option too! I agree that the painted bed is pretty too.

I used tarps for really good protection and it was easy, and even the best quality tarps are much cheaper than any liner.

And ditch lights are in!... well almost... I couldn't find my On-Off-On switch to finish the job, so no test run was completed. Also didn't check to make sure the wipers clear, which I recall some people had issues with??

Routing switch wires through the grommet worked well.

May end up swapping the relay for a watertight one, but this is what came with the harness I ordered from Diode Dynamics with the lights. Loaded it up with Dielectric grease to help seal it in the meantime.

Thoughts on the passenger side wire routing under the wiper valence?

May run out tonight to try and find a switch, think I destroyed the original one removing from my previous car.

Question for you guys that have done the windshield recall, how long did the dealer have it? any get done in the same day? or get rental car? (recall says rental is provided no charge) Dealer is saying 3-4 days and it's sub'd to a glass shop.

Thanks,
LB

Heck, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I'll wait until mine gets damaged, then the glass shop will come to my house to do the replacement, no deductible. If there is a warranty issue, I'll let'em take it up with Ford. :)

I just had that done last week. Dealer had truck for a day and a half because glass shop didn’t keep appt. I did get a loaner during the change. The glass shop broke the original windshield getting it out, so I’m glad the dealer had a spare.

Got the lower portion of the harness complete. Each light now has its own waterproof plug also can be removed as a group. Now that's done I have to finish welding and doing some additional changes to the light bar

Gonna try for ditch light install today.

What do you guys think of routing (making a new hole) through the wire bundle grommet passing into the engine bay? There is plenty of real estate to pop some wires through to the side of the hood release cable. Any reason not to go this route? Looks free and clear of anything concerning and grabbing it with some long angled needle nose from the engine side seems doable.

Any input from more experienced people than myself? Thanks.
There are two large rubber grommet/glands on the firewall - one on each side of the truck - passenger and driver side. In my experience, the passenger side is the easiest to access. Use a wire insertion tool to pierce it from inside the truck, leave the tool inserted in the grommet, feed the wires through the tool into the cab of the truck, and then pull the tool out - and wha-la! Your now wired into the cab without drilling holes and risking screwing up something important in the truck.

ETA: Opps. Just saw where you completed this project. Good result!
