God damn man how much **** are you gonna buy for your ranger holy christ. Can't go a page on here without seeing you multiple times lmao.
I'm actually a artificial intelligence chat robot that @AzScorpion programmatically created to drive up the prices on Ford Ranger-related stock. His investment portfolio is impressive.

After all, who would name their truck Soupie, buy so much random stuff, and have a dog named Cheech?

And Jeff Bezos gives him a kickback on all Amazon sales - @AzScorpion doesn't live in Arizona, he owns Arizona.

sharp truck. My grandpa lived at Ozark when I was a kid. Loved going down there and driving around Fort Rucker. Thanks for your service and stay safe.
What a small huge world we live in! :)

they are renewing your battery warranty right? they should and it should last you 3-5 years. I do suggest adding some dielectric to the poles incase they for some reason start leaking through don't eat the terminals. also keeps them from oxidizing from any moisture in air.

Decided to just cap off the rear driver side cubby since it really was not a storage compartment anymore. Just traced a general shape in the wood. I will attach it to the floor using velcro tape since the carpet works as a backing for that stuff.

Thanks Trevor, They don't but I still have 5 months to work on it. lol ? Maybe a gluten free strawberry spray wax topping would work.?
Darn you Dave, went to a Metallurgy society dinner last night and just now realized you subliminally made me order 3 Downeast ciders in strawberry flavor, and I'm not crazy about strawberry anything! But do love Downeast whenever I can find it. Usually at my daughter's in Concord...????? Now 303 Black Cherry?, count me in!

I am assuming that your Ranger is a lot louder now? I put the Borla dual exhaust on mine and it's quite nice and not too loud.
Sorry not seeing this until now lol

It's definitely louder, yes. I don't think it's too loud though. I was kinda surprised just how not loud it was actually. Even on an extremely hot/muggy day it's not super loud.

It's *almost* silent at cruising speed/rpm, just a slight hum you almost need the radio off to hear. It's really only when your accelerating that it has any volume, but it's definitely not over-bearing or obnoxious.

My vehicles have all had a stock exhaust for the past 5 years or so.. after having driven vehicles that can be heard literally a mile away for awhile before that I was enjoying the silence lol. I didn't want a 'loud' setup, just one that I could hear when I was in the mood.

I'm happy with the amount of noise it makes. It has a deeper tone compared to most 4cyls and it's pretty smooth.. slight pops and burbles on downshifts and stuff.. two thumbs up in my opinion.

I got the Ranger dusted and spray detailed today. Adjusted the tire pressures and detailed the engine compt. I found that a rat had munched on the battery insulation blanket about 2 months ago. I have been using peppermint oil and dryer sheets since then and no trace of the pesky varmint since. I hope that is the last of him. :punch:

Mothballs.

Ever seen a mouse nest made from dryer sheets that's full of chewed up mothballs?

Once I did, I gave up on those two methods and started with the essential oils.

A few weeks ago, I reversed my Rear Seat Delete, returning the back of the cab to stock seating. I noticed right away that it was louder than when the seats were out.

Heart arrhythmia from Long COVID (for those who know our situation, yep, still) prevents my wife from being able sit upright for more than 5 minutes and prolonged noise can bring on headaches and make it difficult to concentrate. This has meant making a few adjustments with furniture and renting a reclining wheelchair when she needs to go for doctor appointments, vaccines, etc. Driving anywhere means she has to recline her seat to ride in my truck, and this puts her head in the rear of the cab that is now noisier than before. I needed to do something about that.

I could easily buy some Kilmat but I have a ton of leftover sound deadening insulation/heat shield from from when a mouse or squirrel tried to make a home in the hood liner of my Passat. I checked and I had enough for the rear wall of the cab. It’s quite thick, but squishy and I knew there would be challenges but I could make it work. So, this morning, the seats came out and I got busy.

  • I cut pieces to fill the larger concave areas of the back wall first
  • I traced out the main panel that would cover the wall
  • I cut the main panel into workable pieces to install them
  • I put the seats back in and went for a test drive

Because of its thickness, I couldn’t cover every square inch like with Kilmat, or things wouldn’t go back together properly. However, it was way easier than Kilmat to install and I’m pleased with the result - a reduction of 10-12 db at cruising speed.

More importantly, Mrs. Duke is more comfortable. ??

There is a storage area under the rear passenger side seat that can be removed to access the rear cab floor. Round two will involve covering that area and the open cavity on the driver’s side where the Jack is stored.

Thanks for the Scab pics, I'd like to do this too - for sound and winter insulation.

And that's really clever about accessing under the seats!
